@1longcj Hi Skip, I recommend backing up the scene/show to USB, then trying a hard reset first and loading the scene file again.
If this doesn’t work then try reinstalling the firmware.
Let us know how you get on.
    Thanks.
    Harry.

Hi all, thanks for the suggestions. It’s not currently possible to input external MIDI messages to the apps via Class Compliant devices, but I have logged and will put it forward to the development team in the next dev meeting 🙂
    Thanks.
    Harry.

    Hi all,

@dickiefunk have you had this since. Could have been an issue with the iPad?

@neill00 For Qu-Pac select the LR master on screen, press Routing. The output balance is here. Alternatively in Qu-Pad and make sure you’re viewing the LR Processing tab (top left) output bal is on the first page of the tab. If this is centre, do you have a way of measuring the level from the outputs? Is metering showing the same on both sides? If so, try a hard reset and test again.
Let me know how you get on.

    Thanks. Harry.

Hi all, please be aware that Windows DAW Control has to offer compatibility for more than just Qu series. This app affects ZED-R16 and GLD also, and has to be supported on operating systems from XP up to Win 10. There has been a considerable amount of work to do to make this compatible with all of these OS incarnations and has taken longer than anticipated because of issues with Win’s handling of Virtual MIDI ports when they are destroyed and created with each session. We have found a solution for this and the app is now in final stages of testing. In fact, it could be ready in as soon as a week providing we don’t encounter some unexpected anomaly.
As I have said on numerous occasions at the time of release of v1.9 firmware these issues had not yet been found with the early alpha version, but the announcement of it’s introduction had been made. We apologise sincerely for the inconvenience caused by the delay, but perpetually bemoaning it’s delay will not unfortunately, expedite it’s availability! Thanks. Harry.

Hi @coffeeking I’ve had a look at your scene file.

Looks like you have sends for mixes 7-8 + 9-10 set to prefade. I’d suggest setting to postfade to maintain their relationship with LR.
(otherwise, when you turn down inputs to LR, they will still send to FX if prefade!)

Also, your FX return assignments should be off into their own mix sends. e.g. unassign FX return 3 from Mix send 7-8, and FX ret 4 from send 9-10.
I also noticed that you have FX1 return assigned to FX1 send.

So in answer to your questions:
    1) Why can I hear FX on FOH when FX channel faders are all the way at the bottom?
A: Make sure FX sends are All Post in Routing > Mix Send settings. FX returns still come into the main LR mix…

    2) Is it possible to have FX on a monitor mix when its NOT turned up on a FOH channel (For instance band member wants reverb on his monitor mix but its an outdoor festival and I’m not using any reverb FOH as there’s plenty of natural reverb)
A: You can turn down or unassign the FX returns in the LR mix. In theory there should be less reverb if you’re outside, unless you’re in a canyon!

    3) Is it possible to adjust FX PER CHANNEL on a monitor mix or is it just added to the whole mix? (For instance singer wants reverb on his vox in his monitor mix but none on anyone elses vox/guitars/drums etc that he can hear)?
A: Use the FX returns to send FX to a particular monitor send. e.g. Push up FX1 return in Mix 1 to send that effect to the monitor.

I’ve attached the changes to your scene so you can have a look.

    Hope this helps.
    Thanks. Harry.

Hi Dan, Cornelius is right. Shows are compatible but any sends to busses (FX, GRPS, MTX) and assignments would not be recalled. Assignments any channels which have been unassigned from LR in Qu-24/32, would need to be reassigned in Qu-16.
    Cheers. Harry.

Hi Jake, as Bob say, Qu-Control would be an ideal solution as this enables up to 15 programmable Soft Key for your Qu mixer. Qu-Control is currently iOS only, but I am hoping there will be an Android version along at some point in the future…
As for Windows DAW control. We are closer to a release candidate, but there is some more testing to be done!
    Thanks. Harry.

Hi Olly, no worries. You’re not the first do do it! It’s caught me out a couple of times…

Phones is effectively the PAFL output and LR is sent to PAFL by default, so if you pull the Main LR fader down, you lose the LR in your cans (phones) too.

In the studio I use the Alt out for monitors with this assigned to LR Pre in Setup > I/O Patch > Surface.

This way I can leave the LR Main fader and use the independent Alt Out level control to turn down my monitors.

Alternatively, you can connect a separate headphone amp to a stereo mix out and use this to give the artist their very own independent headphone mix. This way they can even have FX on their mix without you having to hear it in the main LR mix. Very useful for divas… and frees up the phones for you too 😉

Let me know if you need any more info.
    Cheers. Harry.

@dickiefunk can you confirm if you’ve had this issue since the hard reset?

@veredasestudio sounds like this is a different issue. Have you checked the other forum threads? There may be a solution to a symptom similar to what you’re reporting in this thread: https://community.allen-heath.com/forums/topic/usb-b-streaming-audio-distortion-qu-24
Can you confirm if this is the case and if changing your default sound device in the OS to the onboard device but still using the Qu in your DAW prevents this?

@daleshirk I posted a comment in your original thread re this. Can you check and let us know?

    Thanks.
    Harry.

Hi all, hope you’re well. Thanks to Ernie (@vin7) for the information. Can anyone confirm that Ernie’s solution works for them or you still get the intermittent noise? @lrdtgarsas @asicam @philt80 @rjmsheath Looking forward to hearing from you.
    Cheers. Harry.

Hi Yoga, sorry to hear you had this problem. Can you confirm that the hard reset worked and the firmware had updated?
    Thanks. Harry.

Hi guys, thanks for reporting back. So looks like Qu-Pad v1.91 + 5GHz might have been the solution. Keep us posted on this weekend’s gigs.
BTW, Qu networking is DCHP by default because some customers don’t have the experience with networking etc and it needs to be plug ‘n play, but static is a must in some fixed installations, and is normally my go to procotol.
    Cheers. Harry.

Hi Olly, this may be because you don’t have channels 1-2 linked and panned hard left and right in the mixer. Can you confirm? You could also try patching Ableton’s master out to CH17-18 which is ST1 in the mixer. Does it work then?
    Let us know. Thanks. Harry.

Hi Scott, sorry to hear you’re having these problems. Could you give us an idea of the iPad models, the router/AP you’re using and whether the iOS and app versions the same on both? I will put this forward to software test for investigation.
    Cheers.
    Harry.
