    Hi Dwyane,

    1. A&H haven’t tested the SanDisk Extreme CFast Readers, but we’ve had a positive report from a fellow user.
You need the Card Reader + compatible CFast Memory Card.

The opening post to the thread contains links to all the information you require including the Understanding Qu-Drive and USB Devices knowledge base article

This says: “The maximum file size on FAT32 is 4 GB. Qu-Drive audio data rate per track is 8.24 MB / minute (144 KB / second). This would allow a maximum recording time of roughly 8 hours. For 18 tracks you would need 72 GB drive capacity for the maximum recording time”

So 128GB would give you roughly 15.5 hours recording time for 18 tracks, bearing in mind that you will have to stop and restart recording after the first 8 hours…

    2. in theory, yes, but we always advise caution as Bob says, USB device manufacturers may change chipset at any time and without warning, that why we’re asking to community to let us know when they find one that doesn’t work any more.

    Hope this helps.
    Thanks. Harry.

Hi all, as Mark says, use the Direct Output Trim, and a bit more input level.
The recording level is taken at -18dBFS to allow for sufficient headroom before clipping from the output signal to the converters, however the Direct Out Trim can be used to boost this level by up to +10dB and you can easily push levels to +12dBu in metering before clipping. Some balance between input gain, mix level and direct out trim can compensate for this if you wish to avoid normalising the signal through audio software.
    Thanks. Harry.

Hi all, this is to notify the Integral Solid State Drive 128GB has now been removed from the verified devices list following compatibility failures in the field.
    Thanks. Harry.

Hi Stu, it’s probably worth retracing your steps somewhere. Try reassigning the device midi ports in Logic’s controller setup.
We now have show files and project templates for Pro Tools, Logic, Live and Cubase in the Qu User Libraries here:
    https://community.allen-heath.com/groups/qu-libraries/documents/
It might be worth loading these to have a look at the setup and config.
There is a help file in each package explaining the setup options and routing used.
Let us know if you still having trouble.
    Cheers. Harry.

Hi Mark, If this is for FX tempo, I’m afraid there’s no direct way of syncing Qu to an external MIDI clock source.
I am currently testing the BomeBox to convert messages from other devices to Qu. I will do some investigation to see if it is possible and let you know if find anything out.
    Cheers. Harry.

@jakethepeg – Hi Jake, Qu Chrome introduced the chrome pot and fader caps from GLD for higher contrast controls in low light operation and firmware version 1.80 ‘Chrome’ which included –

 Automatic Mic Mixer (AMM) for conference speech control
 Mix mode for Stereo Groups for more monitor sends (Qu-24/32/Pac)
     Spectrogram
 Admin user password now affects Qu-Pad app login
 Qu-You user password set at the mixer for Qu-You app login
 Audio setup, AMM, linking, routing and matrix functions added to the Qu-Pad app
 High Pass Filter (HPF) slope increased from 12 to 18dB/octave
 Reset default for Scene Global Filter now blocks Custom Layer and SoftKey settings
 LR routing function assignable to the Qu-Pac Qu-Control screen
 Qu-Pac reset default for CH17-32 source is dSNAKE 1-16

Otherwise, no internal hardware changes were made.
    Hope this helps.

    Cheers.
    Harry.

@drobare Hi Dwayne, at the time of development mechanical HDD devices were the defacto medium for recording, since then the USB flash medium has become the ubiquitous format. Unfortunately there are some incompatibilities with Qu-Drive and more modern Flash USB chipsets plus other drive management protocols such as drive TRIM and Garbage management which effect performance of these devices, which are not a problem with mechanical HDD’s. In addition to this flash USB device manufacturers change and technologies change all the time so we cannot guarantee devices will always be compatible. It would be very difficult for us to offer our own branded solution as different customers have different requirements and these devices would be cost-inhibitive to most of our customers compared to widely available devices. This is why we have the compatibility information and ask our customers to help us source this. Hope this helps. Have a great weekend. Thanks. Harry.

Hi Tim, sorry you’re having problems. Do you have another USB device which you can try with your mixer?
If the Integral simply doesn’t work, I recommend returning the Integral to the retailer ASAP.
Could you enter the device details in the form provided in the opening post please?

    Qu-Drive Compatible USB Device Database

This will help us track devices which may have previously worked, but are no longer compatible due to USB manufacturer changing components.
    Thanks. Harry.

@afrodan Hi Dan, you could hard reset the mixer if you want by holding SETUP + RESET when you power on.
This will wipe all settings to factory defaults.
    Cheers.
    Harry.

@dick-rees Hi Dick, Qu firmware has been packaged in ZIP files since v1.8 so they are lossless. If the ZIP was corrupt it wouldn’t extract. Cheers. Harry.
