Unfortunately..??? (if VIDEO (!!!) card is the reason for this issue when… I have no comments…) it’s MacBook Pro (15-inch, Mid 2014) with NVIDIA graphic card on board… when all that remains is to try gfxCardStatus program (force switch to Intel Iris Pro graphics) and… PRAY..? :S

Yes, with FireFace no problem at all (since 2012) but if I want to play audio from MacBook Pro to Qu-24 I need to use DA outputs from UFX to AD inputs on Qu-24 (because Qu-24 have no AES3 or S/PDIF input) for 2016 it’s some kind of anachronism… Another opportunity for me is USB B streaming. I know that recording to USB Flash (!) provides 18 channels without possibility to decrease non-used channels (‘heavy silence’ I say) But I’m talking about USB B streaming and I always thought that in this case there is no audio data transfer except channels that enabled in Channel Routing screen (for example I use only 9 and 10 channels for USB B streaming from MacBook Pro other channels are left as Local) By the way with recording from Qu-24 using USB Flash (18 channels) and from Qu-24 using USB B to DAW there is no problem… These distortions occurs only when I’m using USB B audio streaming from MacBook Pro to Qu-24.

No… I’m just using FireFace’s USB cable to connect MacBook Pro to Qu-24 🙂
(I mentioned it to prevent suggestions about bad-quality of this part of connection)
So… MacBook Pro (El Capitan 10.11.3) DAW (Ableton 9.5) which automatically sets 48 kHz sample rate then I choose Qu-24 as Audio output device – USB cable – Qu-24 (USB B port) and… result you can hear on attachment. (So I just want to stream audio from Ableton through USB to Qu-24)

Stop, stop, stop… and what can you say about this https://www.allen-heath.com/media/Qu-Mixer-Reference-Guide-AP9372_7b.pdf I read this one..! my problems..? why are they keeps this non-actual manual on official site..?
About GLD: I’m happy for you that you have both (Qu and GLD) but since/after 2012 it’s a standard requirements (as from that time most of customers started to asking A&H, Soundcraft, Yamaha etc. one simple question that drives them mad and this is why from Uli we have all in one and more for just 3000..? 😉
About Qu: I think that this limitations in Qu series looks like a non-technical but more a marketing tricks with witch whey try to not drop down sales of GLD and that is all about…

I can’t find the words… please understand me that I am not a person who can just take a couple of consoles and so on… I should work very hard to buy something like Qu-24, and for me it will be one and only for 5-6 or maybe more years..! This is not an exuse, but I want to say that I was nearly dead when I saw this video because on tuesday I will have it… All I want now is to ask about a list of possible changes in future. Thats all. Thanks.

well my happiness ended with this video https://youtube.com/watch?v=ul1-GwjakS8 where they say that dSNAKE inputs are mapped one-to-one to the Qu input channels..! and it’s bad, bad, VERY BAD..! how can you (A&H) sold that kind of mixing desk as something for near professional use with HARD PATCHED INPUTS and OUTPUTS..? is it DIGITAL console or ANALOG..? this is rhetorical question I know but for me this is unacceptable… How can anybody in presant days work with that… limitation..? (in DIGITAL desk I repeat) How can I separate FOH processing (EQ, compression) from monitors (on MIX sends) for example..? or build different EQ from FOH (again on MIX sends) for each (!) input signal..? (should I buy another mixer for that and clone myself if I prefer to work alone..? or should I use analog “Y” split with DIGITAL mixer, nonsense anyway..!) This is crazy and this is about basics of mixing… a shame for such a solid company.

OK..! I know about same preamp level because of one physical input. You just sold one of Qu-24..! (with one of dSNAKE of course) 🙂 it’s very great news and I think that I just made final decision.

back to the question..! 🙂 if I understand you correctly in case of dSNAKE it will be possible for example to plug one mic to input 1 (physical) on snake and patch it on multiple (soft) channels with it’s own processing (Gate, EQ, compression, MIX sends) is it correct..?

I’m always thought that in many forums most people don’t like when new members starts new threads meaning that about particular subject were discussions already. I found this thread in search and I thought that little part of Buie request was about that

-input patching that Is not 1 to 1 especially for usb playback

or maybe I’m wrong..! Anyway… Thanks for quick answer and hope to join A&H digital consoles community.

Hello..! I didn’t have one of A&H digital consoles but I’m thinking to purchase one… and first question for me was why Qu series has no input channel soft/double patching ability..? Is it technical limitation or just a question of time and (maybe) we will see that ability in future firmware updates..? It’s critical feature for me and I think that if answer will be negative I will remove this desk from consideration…
