    @barrypearce
Hi Barry, could you add the information for the Lexar JumpDrive to the Device Compatibility Questionnaire please? https://goo.gl/forms/pwCvHjzVAm

It’s possible that the issue with the caddy you have tested is that it’s USB 3.0.

Can you tell me what happens when this is in record?
Does the record just stop or does the drive appear to dismount and Qu-drive starts to read the drive again?
Can you also try to record in Stereo please?

    Let me know the results.

    Thanks. Harry.

@alrod Hi Al, thanks! For tracking with Qu-16 I’d suggest having channels 1-16 source assigned to Local inputs, then ST1 and ST2 source to USB-B. To use processing on the “way in” make sure the CH/ST Source is set to DIRECT OUTS in the SETUP > I/O Patch > USB Audio.
In the ROUTING menu you can change the tap-off point for the Direct Out. Post Compressor will allow you to use your onboard Dynamics when recording.

For outboard processors, you would need to set up send / return channels for these bits of hardware.
Use a Mix out like you would a monitor, then return the processed signal back to the local inputs of the mixer.
If this is a stereo processor, use a stereo mix out to send and a pair of linked channels to return, for a mono processor just use a mono mix and 1 input channel.
I should have some template show files available in the Qu User Library of the Community shortly.

Let me know if you need more info.

    Thanks.
    Harry.

@timothygordon Hi again, you still need to set up the mixer and DAW control app as instructed, whether you use the physical faders or Qu-Pad.

Although, you don’t actually have to set up the MIDI strips in the mixer’s custom layer if you don’t require this.

Here is the knowledgebase article on DAW control setup for Windows:
    https://support.allen-heath.com/Knowledgebase/Article/View/1164/0/how-do-i-set-up-daw-control-in-windows

and our DAW control Webinar from last week is now on our You Tube channel here:

Once you have setup the mixer’s MIDI ports and DAW control app setup, you can set up MMC transport control on SoftKeys in Qu-Pad.

As you’ll see from the end of the Webinar recording, if you want an even simpler transport interface on your iPad you could use Qu-Control to just give you the soft keys you need.

Let me know if you need any more help.

    Thanks.
    Harry.

@sounddude777 Hi Michael, I suggest backing up your settings and scenes to a showfile and trying a hard reset, by holding the SETUP + RESET buttons next to the screen while switching on power to the mixer.
If the problem continues please contact American Music and Sound our Distributor in the USA for further assistance.
you can find their details here: https://www.allen-heath.com/dist_type/usa/
    Thanks. Harry.

@robertlindsey Hi Robert, sorry to hear you had this trouble. Can you test the Qu-Pac before your next gig?
I suggest running some audio through it and soak testing for as long as possible. Were you using phantom power on any channels during the show? If so, it might be worth loading a couple of channels with DI boxes and switching on +48v for the test.
If it does happen again, and you still have power but no audio check the blue Power LED on the back of the mixer and make a note if it is lit or not. This is part of a circuit which indicates if the PSU is working correctly.
In any case, if it does happen again, please raise a support ticket with our support team at https://support.allen-heath.com/
    Thanks. Harry.

    Hi all,
We have set up Qu with Sonar successfully but it’s a bit tricky!

    1. Make sure the DAW control app is set to HUI
    2. In Sonar make sure the DAW MIDI and Qu MIDI ports are enabled in MIDI Devices.
    3. In Control Surface setup add 2,3 or 4 CM Labs MotorMix controllers required to control the Qu mixer and assign the respective DAW MIDI ports.
    4. In Control Surface setup add an MMC controller and assign to the Qu MIDI ports for transport control
    5. In the main window drag the coloured controller strips under the channels to the correct positions

This will give you control of faders, mutes, solo’s and transport.

NB: The Sel keys will not select a channel and Transport does not have pause and bank up/down.

Other things to bear in mind, if using QuPad, make sure it is connected before opening the project otherwise MIDI fader channels on QuPad won’t sync (this may affect all DAWs).

Coloured controller strips will need to be repositioned under the DAW channels every time you open Sonar.
(TBC if there is a resolution to this)

@timothygordon – We are unable to reproduce and issues of colours on screen no appearing correctly and are unsure why you are not seeing preferences in the DAW control app. Could you take a video of this and submit a support ticket to support@allen-heath.com please?

    Thanks.
    Harry.

@dalewillis Hi Dale, we haven’t tried AMM with omni lav mics here, but have used gooseneck condenser conference mics in a pretty “ringy” room, and found that the results were really impressive. AMM’s “D-Classic” algorithm worked as well as (if not better) than some expensive plugin solutions and even the “real” thing. It’s response time is so quick and natural. We have found that our AMM seems to like a hotter input signal than most and good EQing of the mics plus some tuning of the Sidechain Filter really helps, but certainly no more that would normally be required if I had 16 condenser mics open all at once! We’ve even had it working well with post fade monitor sends to individual conference speakers at the panellist positions open at the same time. Let us know if you need any more info. We’d be keen to hear back from you about the results (would be great to get some high quality pics too)! Drop me a message when you have it working. Thanks. Harry.

@kpitts8198 Hi Kyle, ok, thanks for clarifying. What happens when you put just the v1.8 .QUU on the USB key. Does the mixer read the file?
Have you tried another USB device?
    Thanks. Harry.

@kpjax – Hi Kyle, sorry to hear you’re having trouble.
Have you extracted the .QUU file from the ZIP archive and placed this in the root directory of the USB device?
Also, did you remove the v1.8 firmware .QUU file from the USB before trying to update to v1.9?
If you haven’t already seen it take a look at the firmware update instructions here: https://www.allen-heath.com/media/How-to-Update-Qu-Firmware_5.pdf
If you’re having any more trouble please send us an email to support@allen-heath.com
    Thanks.

Hi Josh, we believe this is related to the issue you have found in your post regarding Qu-Pad login issues, and are looking into this too.

Qu-Pad can't login Standard or Basic user

    Thanks. Harry.

Hi Dan, welcome to the community 🙂

Have you touched the CH1 fader select on screen and turned up the fader using the rotary control so it sends the signal to the LR?

Have you checked out the Qu-Pac Channel Screen & Qu-Control tutorial video on our YouTube Channel?

You can find it here: https://youtu.be/t0kCfYwjxxc?list=PLq3_zC_Xz0Pgly7wY33Wr-yI_D2ztnlzM

In answer to your phantom power question in the other thread:

Phantom power is always off for a channel by default. This is to prevent hot-plugging mics while +48v is active.

To switch +48v on, connect a condenser mic or DI for example to the mic pre, then press and hold the on screen switch for approximately 2 seconds to activate. You’ll see the indicator next to the on screen switch turn red when it’s on.

Hope this helps. Let us know if you need more info.
    Thanks.
    Harry.

Hi All, we have had a considerable number of reports that San Disk devices listed on the Qu-Drive USB Device Compatibility chart are no longer working.

The devices can usually be read, but will cause the Qu-Drive format process to hang at 0%.

We have been able to test a small number of these devices here and can confirm that there has been a chipset change in manufacturing. This seems to be across San Disks range of products.

We advise avoiding San Disk products until we are able to verify all of the devices affected and offer a resolution.

*Please note that this may not affect the San Disk Extreme models*

If you have a device which you are experiencing these issues with any devices we urge you to complete the USB Device Compatibility Questionnaire or send an email to support@allen-heath.com with all the requested details.

    Thanks.
    Harry.
