So to make sure the RTA will always work on screen do what exactly/have what buttons selected/not selected?
Make sure NO PAFL button is selected?

I can’t see where to contact you on there so I’m replying on here.
On Saturday night it happened again.

What are you routing to the PAFL that you’re not seeing on the RTA? (a channel? the main mix?)
    All microphones channels

Can you see metering on the main meter LEDs and nothing on the RTA?
Correct (I hadn’t actually noticed the LEDs were lighting up prior mind you)

Do you have an iPad hooked up and if so, can you see the RTA on Qu-Pad?
Yes and oddly when I played music through the iPad the RTA started to function for the iPad AND the microphone channels

When you reboot to get it to work as expected, is it just a case of powering off and straight back on or are you waiting a while?
Turn speakers off, power desk off, power desk back on, turn speakers on then its fine again

Have you experienced anything else at all that’s not doing what you’d expect?
    No

I have partial videos of it all too if you want to see?

Just to advise that this is STILL happening. I had to reboot my QU-16 at my last two shows to get the RTA to work.

Yeah, I rebooted after. It was fully switched off and back on again as I moved it to a different location to rehearse.

I’ve no idea I’m afraid. But rebooting sorted it.

I know you don’t want to hear this but I literally read the manual from start to finish when I got mine.
Any spare few minutes I’d read a bit more (Even on the toilet).
Sure I didn’t understand a load of it, but you will feel like you know a bit more about it.
It’s very daunting I know. I wish you the best of luck with your QU-16.

    Ah cool.
Now, I’m not sure if I’m making something up here, but the other day I could have sworn I saw someone using a Behringer X32 where it LOOKED like they were overlaying some kind of EQ blocking pattern over the top/upper section of the PEQ screen.
So it looked like the RTA pattern was completely enclosed in colours, like Ive crudely drawn here.
    Any thoughts what that was?

    OK, great stuff.
So 2 users have noticed this issue, is this enough to get A&H to investigate/fix?

    hey all
I’m not ignoring responses, I’m just not getting my desk out again until Saturday and if/when it happens again I will check it and know how to fix it if the above users are correct. So many thanks everyone for your assistance.

I’ll keep my eye on it guys. The weird thing is that without me pressing any buttons it fixes itself after a reboot.

So, can anyone suggest a “General” compression setting for IEMs please?
More so for avoiding loud spikes in volume than anything else?
So using as a Limiter really.
Exact readings off the desks screen would be helpful please.

    Thanks in advance

Ha, three hours I wish. I do weddings.
Both sound and performing. Also setting up lighting and doing EVERYTHING else.

    Hey
Im not saying this isnt a great tool (Even though the whole thing sounds way too complicated for me/I dont understand it at all/I dont have time to read up on it anymore)
If all you need is an RTA on your phone/tablet I’d recommend
    FFT Plot for £4.99
    https://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/fft-plot-real-time-sound-frequency-analyzer/id569468015?mt=8

I personally have little to no time to sort the sound for my bands (less than 90 mins from unloading into the room to some background music having to be put on at clients weddings) so for me its always maximum gain before feedback over “Best sounding mix”……

    – Set all the band and mics up
    – Raise a channel until feedback occurs
    – See what the main feedback frequencies are on the built in RTA one by one
    – Knock those frequencies down on the GEQ
    ………and thats it

I wish I had more time to do a more thorough job but I really dont.

I’m sure the above app will no doubt be useful for PROPER sound engineers though, not guerrilla sound engineers like myself 🙂

    Hi
In a nutshell what does this Smaart® Tools app do please (I’ve scanned the link and its not telling me much)?
Surely its not just an RTA which we already have build into the the QU16, so its telling you where the problematic frequencies are so you can drop the GEQ/PEQ on them as we can do this “For free” already.

    Thanks
