Hi,
Do they use a live band or a only a dj with cd? Most rap artist i’ve toured with tend to hold their mics in the worst way possible, wich results in no definition or dynamics. Compressors are your best friends! Don’t over-eq on the high end of the spectrum, due to microphone handling, it’s just not there… But that’s my opinion/experience…
Good luck,
Gijsbert
T112/idr322011/02/01 at 10:11 am #27178I also work with ligthing desks and they have the “tracking” option. In short, when you press store they only store what is changed. Everything else, the channels that weren’t changed, stay just the way they were. Would be great on an ilive, you don’t have to worry if you have forgotten something!

I’ll be testing that this weekend. I think we’ll need some kind of MIDI forwarding program to connect one MIDI in interface with another MIDI Out on the same computer. In your case MIDI In via IPMIDI and MIDI Out via the Physical MIDI interface.Hello woutert,
What you are looking for is Maplemidi, (www.maplemidi.com), a virtual midi cable. Install on your computer and you will have 4 midi in and 4 midi out ports!

When can we start the Dutch A & H Idr owners club?

2010/07/02 at 5:12 pm #25848It takes about one day to educate non-professionals not to get feedback and with ilive it’s quit simple to preprogram a show or scene without the worst frequencies. Remember, ilive is a professional system wich give the professional audio engineer the possibilities to even make it monkey proof, should you further extend that system to provide reasonable sound to non-professionals? I’m open to any improvement but i will never use a feedback killer or something like auto-eq….unless A&H designs the ultimate feedback killer! (they will, someday, together with the “you-will-never-sing-out-of-tune-button” or the “girlfriend-of-the-lead-guitarist-will-hear-the-solo-louder-than-everyone-else-switch”)
Just kidding…
2010/07/02 at 12:09 pm #25845experimented a few times with them in a live situations. it’s terrible, instead of finding the feedback, your trying to find out what is missing in your sound. Some high notes are gone for some seconds, then some low notes.. You tend to pump up all frequencies because there is no feedback and then the feedback killer takes the frequencies out, but does that by predicting where problems might occur. (otherwise they would be useless) In the end you lose control over your spectrum. Imagine that in a church or a place with volenteers, they can do what ever the want, no feedback, but in the worst case, very bad sound. It might certainly help on monitors, but in the end, there must be a reason why the big audio companies don’t spend money or research on the ultimate feedback killer….

t112/idr322010/05/26 at 10:01 pm #25630Hello guys,
Seems to me that if you connect a surface to each rack you need a ace card in each rack to connect them to each other. if you would use only one surface but two racks you will need only 1 ace card.
So you’re both right in your own way, but i is righter then you (i think that wasn’t an english sentence, sorry)
Have fun!

2010/04/14 at 11:02 am #25471Thanks Jeff,
I was just wondering, i used this setup with a lighting desk once with a 85mbit homeplug and it worked fine. I allready understood the 85 mbit or even the 200 mbit homeplug would be a big risk, but a friend used the new belkin powerline and i saw the 1 gbit specs. That made me curious.
I use my setup, a t112 and idr32, in small theatres so a 20 meter powercable is enough. I#7743; allways looking for easier setup, but in the end i have to lay a cable anyway so i’ll stick to my ftp cat5 cable.
thanks again

2010/04/14 at 12:43 am #25465I’m sorry captainf if i’m ahead of you…
few questions:
-where do i connect my second surface?
-the mixrack does all the processing, if i change something on 1 surface, doesn’t it change also on the other surface?
-what is the best ip-configuration for the second/monitor surface? Thanks so far, sounds really interesting!!

2010/04/03 at 7:16 am #25432hello,
i can’t recommend the touchsmart from HP. The computer itself is great but the screen is really reflective (if that is the right english word..). We tried to use it in a theatre but it’s really annoying to make sure you are in the right position to see what’s on the screen instead of the reflection of the front of house lights or something…. We use an acus EEE top with touchsreen now, less computer, better screen!

2010/03/31 at 5:41 pm #25415hello,
on the Grand MA lighting desk you have a actual “oops” button, re-doing every last step you did, endlessly, so pressing again will re-do/undo the step before that etc.
and a auto scene increment….
please…

2010/03/26 at 1:56 pm #25387Hello again,
Sounds great, thanks for the explanation, jeff. All i wanted to make clear is that it the information from audinate and A&H didn’t comply with the rather wild ideas i read on the forum… Based on the information i have now, it sounds even better!
thanks again,
Gijsbert
