mute scenes – what an awesome idea. I hadn’t thought of that. Thank you

Thank you for this. Even if it was just the patch sheets this would be awesome, with the chance to check if there are overlaps and mis patching in the config this is even better.
Thank you[]

http://www.metrochurch.org.au2012/04/18 at 11:44 am #30387I find the time to save an edited scene to take a while too.
If it is just faders, mutes and FX its OK but if there is channel settings and aux levels etc too it can take a full minute to store: really challenging when you are rehearsing and the vocalists all put their mics down on the stage near the wedges while I have no control.
workable but annoying.

I do wonder why is it that both this and the normal iLive still have a “Global Direct out source” – is this really that hard to rewire?

http://www.metrochurch.org.au2011/12/10 at 4:19 pm #29293repeat of my earlier requests:
1. be able to set the Direct out source differently for different channels e.g. pre-fade for some nd post-delay for others
2. width control on stereo channels
3. a way of being able to save and recall the fader settings for a given mix output for saving someone’s IEM mix.
4. access to compressors from tweak.Having said that, I have been enjoying the new compressors and the desk generally.
We will be testing using a Behringer BCF2000 from the editor computer soon – this may lead to really interesting configuration ideas…

Go read up and get pricing on one of these: https://lake.labgruppen.com/products/lm_26_features/
There is algorithms in there that are pateneted and will never ever be recreated by allen and heath or any other mixing console manufacturer for good reason.BTW, isn’t Yamaha adding Lake processing to their desks?

http://www.metrochurch.org.au2010/10/10 at 9:26 am #26601I didn’t think it was particularly radical. If you can hear the source move when you pan it then it needs to be stereo.
we have the speaker towers either side of the stage which is the width of the room and so, unless we were crossing the subs over at about 32 Hz then at least I can hear the difference
The other side of this is that even if you use the built in LRSub setting you lose 2 mixes any way so you may as well run a stereo aux instead so that we don’t waste a mix bus – there’s only 32 of them <grin>
Stereo is good. Surround is probably a couple of years away

http://www.metrochurch.org.au2010/10/05 at 10:28 am #26578I have found that you can’t gang channels of a different sort together. for example I have set up a mix output as a Post-Fade Aux mix to use for stereo Subs rather than the system provided MONO sub chennel that still takes 2 mix channels and I noticed that I can’t gang the mix and the sub masters together.
I we have the mains ganged anyway so I now have 2 faders L & Sub instead of L & R.
We use matrices for the FOH fed outputs too which is nice.

http://www.metrochurch.org.au2010/09/11 at 12:54 pm #26351We frequently use 2 editors on stage independent of the surface mix. PAFL gets shared so don’t use that but mixes are independent (in the way you are using it).
interestingly, recently we ran foldback (8 x IEM + 2 speaker sends) from the editor (with an additional monitor) and a second system mixing another mix for the overflow room down stairs.
all went well although running foldback on editor is frustratingly slow.

http://www.metrochurch.org.au2010/09/11 at 12:40 pm #26350I haven’t had a problem with it and I am even running 10.6.4 x64. I gues different systems are different.

http://www.metrochurch.org.au2010/08/28 at 10:54 am #26234I could still see it being useful for level matching with amps and things. we actually use all the mixes: wedges, IEM, FX, FOH Xover split etc.
Not essential but a nice refinement.
