Also there is no easy way to progress from one thread to the next without having to go back to the main list. Previous/Next links would be useful

We make good use of the 16 DCAs for control of the elements of the mix + mute groups so using one just for controlling outputs that should be linked seems a bit of overkill. Having said that, that is what we are currently having to do.

SMAART, I actually feed ref mic, a mono mix of LR, PAFL and Matrix out which has the speaker processing.

GEQ on IP has never really been high on my list as often I need to grab frequencies that are not on the ISO frequencies. If we can do repatching internally then maybe we could do DO to input of another channel and get 8 bands of EQ that way.

thanks for your great ideas. I haven;t really explored the iPad app.

The bigger question is: do you really want to run the risk that the band will lose their IEMs even momentarily, for the sake of buying an extra $100 switch?

You mean you are not already running a laptop next to you anyway for editor / SMAART/ Cue sheets…?

I have to admit I prefer the idea of UAD over Waves but this is available via Dante so I guess this is not a v2 thing so much.

A revamp of the internal computer stuff would be nice: support for an external monitor(s) for particular screens different form that which is being used to edit things: like 1-64 meters on a separate screen and another with the RTA (although I can just use a SMAART input fed from PAFL for that I guess…)

so many cool ideas flowing around here.

    dburris, that’s an excellent idea.

Using computers for what they do best. great thinking.

Anything routable to anywhere would be nice. Output of a group routed to the input of a channel or another group or ??

I do have a bit f an indicator: I have the bottom softkey set to Main L as suggested above with the LED set to show the status. that way a quick look will always let me know if I am working on the FOH.

That way I still have 7 soft keys left for Mutes or what-have-you

I am a little curious about the positioning in the low end market as well. I just watched the CX April news and they mentioned a price of around $3800 in Australia which would put it squarely in price competition with the Presonus 32 and the X32 but of which have 32 channels rather than 16.

Now, I really like the feature set of the Qu-16 particularly the buttons down the right for the sends – something I wish I could do on the iLive preferably with a set of MIDI buttons or a controller.

But, sitting here, two thirds of the way through implementing a standardisation for our smaller church campus venues on Presonus 16s I am feeling a little bit like its too little too late.

However, I look forward to being proven wrong and seeing a proliferation of Allen and Heath kit through the world again :)

There are also the two buttons on the right – Input and Output AFL?

If you select the Input one, then you will hear the channel with it’s PAN and FOH level rather than before (PRE) the fader.

I find this really useful when you want to check your vocal mix by PAFL-ing the Vox DCA.

I hope this is what you are looking for or, alternatively, a new avenue of fun and adventure :)

    Thank you Richard :)

in depth Scene management in the current system would probably work better in something that looks rather like an arrange window or piano roll, but as I was writing that I suddenly wondered about an Object Oriented Scene management system.

I think I saw something somewhere recently talking about how the settings would follow a character whom you could define.

Perhaps where your base scene defines the people and instruments on stage and the settings and somehow you can choose when you edit / save a parameter whether it affects the overall sound of that channel e.g. overall instrument sound, or just for this part of the production.

Maybe a way of having a scene group “Band 1” or “act 1” or whatever and then the option to “Apply channel settings to Scene Group”.

Is the MIDI spec up to a level where scene management could be run from a sequencer?

Some new wishes … but before I do, thank you for the stereo channel control stuff in the pre-amps and the new Algorithms for the GEQs and improving the network connectivity for multiple devices.

    1. Be able to gang a Stereo Matrix with a Mono Matrix
    2. Side Chain connection between Main and Aux (I use a mono Aux for Subs and it would be nice to keep it together)
    3. Scene settings EDIT – can we get visibility of the surface configuration stuff like PAFL latching, bank linking DCA / Mute group, soft keys. these things are stored in a store All but you can’t add them to a discretely specified Scene config.
    4. Trim on outputs ideally with the Polarity button – which I also love (I know you can have matrices with faders but we don’t have any left :)) and if you are sending the same send to different targets (EG CDR, Computer, & Video record) and need different levels its a bit of a waste of a Bus.
    5. Gain on RTA so that we can get it to a reasonable level on the screen
    6. retrofit labels for the two EQ ranges
    7. the ability to route a Group to effect sends

That’s probably enough for now :)

Hopefully none of them are particularly arduous.

Thanks again for a great product

Sounds like a cabling issue after the desk.

check / replace the cables connecting them.

Video is often on a different power source so try using an isolating transformer or DI to electrically isolate the system’s earths.

    I hope this helps

ganging also means that if you change one side it links the other side to ensure it sounds the same L to R.
