With the new scene control in the 1.61 editor, it would be good if this could be in sync with the one on the surface it is attached to so the scene list and recent / next were the same – or maybe optional.
Extend the frequencies for parametric EQ further for situations where you need more control in a given area or for Sub crossover in the Matrix output EQ.
Stereo / mono doesn’t change the channel numbers forcing you to revise the channel list in Excel and reloading. Similarly, if the channel is stereo and you make them mono, the ‘other’ channel gets named after channel 1.
Nested DCAs so I can make a mute group or controlled DCA of other DCAs so that I don’t have to redefine two DCAs if I change one.
If have Rotary on ‘Trim’ can control knobs be on Pre-amp gain? Or, can the Phantom button still work when “trim on surface”
That’s all I can think of for this iteration (+ previous ones – especially width)
thanks

2010/03/30 at 12:57 pm #25403Agreed, the other possibility, can the pan link in ganging be switchable to opposite as at the moment if you gang they both go to the same point. this would be an alternative as you can’t easily adjust the width if you have buried the second channel somewhere.
2010/03/30 at 12:47 pm #25402I would still love a “Width” control on stereo channels.
2010/03/30 at 12:35 pm #25401our experience has been excellent, a few points spring to mind:
– the before and after sales support was fantastic. It may have helped being the first purchaser in Western Australia, but still, excellent demo opportunities, great deal and now they are doing all the can to look after us while we organise a replacement as the current one got saturated in the recent storms – it was still dripping 4 days later
– great number of mixes and the changeable config is a great feature. It is still possible to wish for more but currently having FOH with internal pseudo X-over and EQ, 6 mono FB sends, 9 stereo auxillaries for IEM, OB etc, and 4 general FX + 4 inserted ones: fantastic.
– the only current competition I think are the new Digico SD9 and possibly the Soundcraft Vi1 rather than the yamaha offering which are very restrictive in operation and configuration although you _can_ use matrices as mixes which is nice.
– very usable FX, EQ and Dynamics
– The Preamps get noisy if you turn them up too much so, not having gain above 30 dB seems to be best.
– expansion options as everything will talk to everything else is great for linking rooms, and so on.I recommended something that we will keep long term and I am not disappointed.
2010/03/14 at 12:38 am #25302As a stepping stone for the iPhone app, what about as a PL type device?
Support for the two finger zoom that translates into finer resolution on the parameter you are changing should help with the ‘fat finger’ syndrome.
I am not so concerned with catching 3 frequencies at once as I don’t think I could pick them all simultaneously that fast.
2010/03/13 at 4:38 pm #25301” You could do that using Stereo Matrix as IEM sends: Check out my post: https://www.ilive-digital.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=1067“
Cool,
That’s another good idea. I was wondering about something along those lines so that you for bringing it out. My only thing about that is that it is a waste of a whole Aux to use it for one voice hence the bring a channel straight through thing which CAN be done but not in stereo without using 2 IP channels for it. Hence my request.
I rally appreciate this forum – its great.
2010/03/03 at 6:25 am #25247(updated time would be great especially for finding that last one someone else made.)
My next idea: when using a stereo mix and adding an Alternate Input from one channel is it possible to set it up so that it can be fed to both sides of the stereo mix rather than just one side?
This would be really useful for multiple similar IEM feeds e.g. Vocals – same stereo mix + variable amount of individual. splitting before the physical connection is not practical as we use all 48 inputs.
2010/03/03 at 6:20 am #25246This looks good at least to get things moving. I can see two scenarios playing out:
1. engineer needs > 48 (+surface12) channels of input and therefore gets 2 MixRacks running in Master/Slave.2. Engineer wants more other stuff and so therefore uses second mixrack NOT as slave but independent with Computer or second surface control (e.g. R72) and uses the Port B ES connection to tie the systems together as though patched. This way he gets to submix e.g. for strings / choirs Glam metal drum kits, extra FX that can be added to these sub mixes and also, with good planning, group and route from the MixRack1-2 for extra output busses.
I really like the way this is so versatile and getting better as we go.
Oh, what happens when you want to have a mix with a direct connection from an input overlaid on the mix output (Alt. input?) – this won’t work with the Master/Slave set up will it?
How about: Mixes in Master can be mirrored on Slave and the Alt Input can be added from slave.
2010/01/18 at 7:31 am #25088Width control on a stereo channel so that I don’t have to gang stuff e.g. Overheads, percussion etc. like on the analogue board stereo channels.
BTW, our church bought the iDR48/T118 we had on demo – joy
2010/01/07 at 7:07 am #25050I’d love to get hold of the Logic Environment you were talking about if I could. the Prosoundweb links don’t seem to go anywhere interesting
2010/01/07 at 7:03 am #25049particularly if this ACE to computer interface is bi-directional
2010/01/07 at 7:00 am #25048How about soft key can be a multi DCA mute – we have all 16 DCAs allocated, so being able to allocate a softkey to mute DCAs 1-6 would be great.
I realise I could combine some DCAs so that I have one/some spare but if I don’t have to that would be nice.
I like the idea of a PL 24 button remote (would this be a softkey remote?)
We are still working on the best strip layouts for the T112 but its a great product, thanks.
2010/01/07 at 6:07 am #25047Excellent info about the Auto modes. I usually choose manual because then I know what is being done, but now I know that there is other stuff under the hood with the auto modes, I’ll play with those.
For reference compressors, my favourite transparent compressor is the Weiss but aren’t we getting into the realms of Sintefex and Liquid Channel stuff? Not that I mind. being able to run a vocal through a Millennia Media preamp, a Massive Passive EQ and a Fairchild compressor would be great. But seriously, what about a “character” setting with a couple of adjustments e.g. attack/ release; speed/amount etc. where character can be ‘vocal’, bass, music, perc, 160, LA2, fairchild, tubetech, Obliterate.
BTW, ratios of less than 1:1 would be nice (like the Weiss) for situations where the received audio is messed up like in backing trax, and parallel compression is nice too.
I have another idea but that should perhaps be another thread.
Have fun,
Duncan
