    kimaru,
Lots of guys here to possibly give some pointers and help. Sounds like from your description a issue more with the Dante Virtual Sound Card. The support for that is also found here:

There are lots of articles and papers that can assist you in setup at the Dante site. dont know if you had tried there as of yet. Worth reading and learning more about the software.

    Vilddyr,

You can use a t-surface with the Idr-0. You have to use a M-ace card and It would need to be in port A rab-2 mounted into the expansion slot of ID-O. What you are wanting to do may not be possible with the IDR-O and a IDR-48 due to a limitation on the expansion slots. An Idr-0 Fited with a Rab-2 and an ace in slot a for Split, a waves card in slot B for waves processing.
Were I am not sure is I beleive at that point you would be limited to the editor control software to control the IDR-0. If you were to run a Ace card in slot a and ace in slot b of the rab-2, then you could get the split and also control from the T-surface. You would not have Waves ability in this set up.
Hang in there I am sure there is a way to do as you are looking for, you may just need a different roung. I dont see a lot of folks using the IDR-O on the forums much so getting response that will help may take some time.

And please if someone reads and I am leading in the wrong direction…..Correct mE. [B)]

Do you currently have the equipment you listed? or is this a system you are looking to purchase and set up?

    Bear,

What you are doing is a digital split. This is different from a master and slave rack set up. In a digital split the only thing that is shared is the analogue pre amp. Run it as suggested. Assign your gain to the IDR 64 to get set for sound checks. Once gain is set, then the Monitor and foh switch to trim settings. As far as input names, they would be system specific at foh or monitor. Editor and a pc or mixpad would also be system,FOH or Monitor specific. one could be changed without effect on the other.

When you mention master and slave, you would be linking 2 mixracks together to get all 128 digital chan of processing. So both racks would work as one with some limitations and advantages. In reading you questions I think the Digital split is what you are trying to accomplish. Have fun, this is a great system to operate and learn from…

    The Above mentionedby dburris….
1++. This would make for a secure method of doing many things with editor that I would not do now…Due to the inability to trust some to either not make a mistake and fool around with anothers mix. not that any musician I know would do it intentionaly :0.

So My Question…Sounding like a dummy….Whats up with the scene fades for theatre. Keep in mind I dont do a lot of theatre. Mostly live bands and House of worship. Scene fades are great for lighting :0. Just asking because i am not up on the request for this feature or maybe even how it would be handled by the Audio Mixer.
Just as an explanation. I have had a hard time with some of the scene safes and recalls. However with a bit of work starting to understand and adapt to the Allen and Heath method. Actually works quite well when setup properly. I likesome of the ideas of use gathered from some here on the forum. I still beleive that after sitting behid many other consoles of many different brand names, I-Live gives more bang for the Buck, and they do tend to listen to the user input from us here….Rock on

    frozenwaffles,
wait till you get in a situation where you cant see the small touch screen. A large screen then can become very useful. I almost always have an external set up when using it for larger events.

I have used Cubase for some time in the studio it would work with the Dante. There are lots of Programs that will work the DVSC.

There are several on the forum that uses Reaper as well. If your unfamiliar with it….

Its very inexpensive and great for on the move and recording.

I am with you and would love to see an Allen And Heath ACE interface or Virtual sound card of sorts. That would be a great addition and selling point.

Hey guys, I recently ran across another company that has introduced a In Ear Monitor system that relies on control from a smart phone and or I pad. Very user friendly, easy to use and very easy to explain and teach to others to use. I would like to se this as a app for the I-live. would work great in a HOW with the musicians having control of their own mixes. YES I already know about the app and the app, however they seem to be very much geared for the FOH or Monitor engineer. Not the individual user. It would be a much simpler app with a lot less control and not nearly the programming capability of the current apps. Their equipment cost is not much cheaper then a IDR16 and does not have nearly the functionalty. Just thought as to how we could get I live there. I could see selling just a IDR16 and wireless systems for those hard to run cable places as a great add on to an existing system. Any A&H guys wanting to hear more thoughts, would love to share with you.
A&H I live still the top notch console and biggest bang for the buck, thanks Guys

Thanks Nicola and the A&H team. It looks as if you guys have a good strategy for staying head of some of the competition, to be able to reach another segment of the market. Looking forward to seein and using the new system.

Just having the ability to talk to the I-Live is good. I think this system will inherate some of the great stuff that we have in the I-live. But thee are still a lot of features that the I-live offers that this does not. Channel count is a big thing. Limited on that were as I-live will continue to offer many more with dual mix rack capabilities. Flexability, wireless control, editor, and apps?

I think this is going to be an awsome system for those guys that just cant quite afford a I-live but would really like a digital console. The install possibilities just opened up for more user freindly smaller venues and Installs.

With the ace card, if you are only running a single rack, this could make for a split foh/monitor mix console to add to the I/live system—If we are reading and seeing everything as it truly is….at a much more afforable price then previously possible…..provided the price is good and in line with what we have heard

    steffenromeiss,

I see you just post and I am going to post what I think is the correct answer. Ace is Ethernet 802.3 IEEE Layer 2 protocall. I dont beleive that it would at this time Be avb ready. I hope that I am wrong and Maybe Nicola or One of the other very help A&H guys will chime in and correct me. What would be nice to see would be a Ace PCIe card to stream via ASIO in to a computer for recording. But then would we really need anything else. Some one feel free to correct on me on the ACE/AVB if needed.

    Thanks Guys,

This had been my back up if there is no other. I had the hopes of being able to keep it as easy as possible. Sounds like this may be the best option. Thanks for the Input. Sam, Thanks for the hard work you guys do in monitoring and updating here on the forum.

    Kris,

Dont forget about the surface outs also available. Although in this video, I believe he is just explaining the show setup. Not really hooked up that far and extensive, not that many xlr’s plugged into the outs of either mixrack it dont appear. Good job of explaining the setup just not real clear on the actual plug’s and cables and where they would be plugged into. Just the thoughts after watching.
