You can get to most everything by MIDI via Mixing Station. This approach has the benefit of only setting up your controller once, and then it will pretty much work with any mixer David handles.

I haven’t tried it, but I would guess you’d need to use a tie line from the preamp to the USB, and then select the USB as the channel input. Don’t know how you’d control the gain on the preamp, though.

@keithjah, what’s the correct way to do a USB channel insert?

How did you route the channel insert on the SQ?

@rafaela, just for future reference, am I understanding that there is a way? If so, is there a reason not to let us know what it is?

    +1

I’ve been sending the delay back to itself to get full regeneration for dub reggae. There’s unfortunately no way to put a limiter on the send *or* the return, so the only safety is limiting on the master output.

That looks correct. You’re sure your PA output is also patched from MainLR L & R? Not from a matrix or something?

Typical channel record feed is from IP Direct outputs. Same result, but you don’t have to reset it if you change input patches, or switch to locals instead of a stagebox.

I think you must not be taking the USB feed from where you think you are. Somehow you’re taking a buss that doesn’t included the FX.

I’m also puzzled by your mention of tielines. You should be using the channel direct outs.

Are you actually using the L/R outs to drive the pa? Are the effects coming out of the pa? This has to be a routing issue. There’s no way to strip effects out of a send once they’re in there.

Ah, because by the time the gate opens the signal is already too large? Which filter type do you use?

Lengthening the attack time to 80us seemed to help a bit, but obv don’t want to lose the attack.

Are you sure they’re all patched with IP Direct Outputs to USB on the IO Patch page? The Direct Out Source on SQ is global, not per channel, so you can’t have an individual channel set differently.

I’d somehow never realized that all 8 SQ FX had returns. I also had never realized that you can assign direct out channels to them without using a send. Single purpose FX like gated snare or suboctave bass no longer have to burn one of my sends? Oh, this is going to be fun.

Seems reasonable to me to switch to the EQ screen when I select an EQ band. I’ve been tweaking the Width knob to get there, since that’s the setting least likely to affect the sound, but it doesn’t work if I’m on a shelf band.

So if the monitor tech needs to change gains on stage, it affects my mix out front, regardless of whether it’s S-Link or Dante?
