You can set which functions are included in a gang.
2024/04/30 at 12:40 am #12172432 channels via USB, 64 via Dante. You select them in the I/O pages.
2024/04/27 at 7:22 pm #121671Do you have your SQ’s direct outs patched to USB? It looks to me like Audacity is confused about the capabilities of the interface. I don’t know if that’s a Windows setting or an Audacity one, I don’t spend much time in either. You should be able to see 32 mono signals.
2024/04/27 at 7:08 pm #121670I assume you tried replacing the USB cable and cleaning the board’s jack?
2024/04/26 at 3:49 pm #121644I’ve had that happen recording to a Macbook. The only thing unusual going on was a number of people using SQ4You. Board reboot fixed it.
2024/04/22 at 3:54 pm #121546I haven’t noticed this happening before yesterday when I did a fader calibration
What firmware are you running?
2024/04/10 at 2:44 pm #121237Cool. I had no idea. I can see that being useful.
2024/04/09 at 3:04 pm #121218Muting the group is the same thing as muting individually.
I’d guess you’re talking about mute groups, where you see the mute buttons flashing. I’m suggesting routing to a group, which has a master you can mute. Those are very different things.
2024/04/08 at 4:55 pm #121190Route your channels to a group and mute the group.
2024/04/08 at 4:52 pm #121189Don’t even need tielines, just input direct outs. I do this all the time, Dante multitrack to one computer and a mixed feed to the video computer.
2024/04/06 at 2:52 pm #121096First, I’m assuming you have an SQ6 or SQ7, since the SQ5 doesn’t have soft rotaries. You can assign LR to A&B, but I don’t think there’s an output level available in the soft rotaries. You could send LR to a matrix and assign that to AB, with the matrix master on a soft rotary.
2024/03/28 at 6:23 pm #120877Has to be something in routing.
2024/03/25 at 5:44 pm #1207081- Power Down PA, PA Pops,
How odd. Got processing in the rack? How are you powering it down?
I never use the SQ shutdown. Dump the amps, dump eth system processing and stageboxes, power off the board.
I believe the idea is that since it doesn’t(?) have battery backed RAM, they’re writing current state to some storage medium every once in a while. If you were to kill it while it was doing that, it might power up in an indeterminate state.
2024/03/25 at 5:38 pm #120704Yamaha really missed the boat with not offering on-board multi-track recording capability.
I disagree. Both USB and Dante available. When I track straight into my DAW, I can add channel names and song titles on the fly, and when it comes to mixdown there’s zero transfer time. Open the file and start mixing.
2024/03/19 at 2:22 pm #120519Is it possible to switch the analog input to another preamp/analog input in the console/stage box the next time it happens?
I have it Y cabled to an entirely different stagebox. Just need to switch the patching at the board if it happens again.
The odds are somewhat against it being the cable. There are 20 or 30 cables in that crate. The same mic and channel faulted 3 times over the course of a month or more, and those cables have worked otherwise. I will pull the cable out of circulation if/when it happens again, though.
