Yes, Dante would allow you to route independent channels to a second mixer which could mix your broadcast.
You can also choose the send point as post-preamp which would give you your split – the second console then has control via trim and otherwise a completely independent mix.
An aux on a single board would give you control of levels independent of the house mix, but wouldn’t give you independent processing.

When recording we have about a second to do 4 tasks (mute band, mute singers, unmute preaching mic, hit record) so a softkey would just simplify and reduce risk in this process.

2013/10/18 at 7:05 am #35272gkhewittParticipantEven if they did you would still need an interface card like Dante as none of the other ports on the surface (such as the Ethernet port) pass audio.
I guess you could have something hang off the monitor port on the AR2412 but it would be a limited number of channels.
2013/10/10 at 8:45 am #35126gkhewittParticipantIt works fine for me except the auto discovery doesn’t work so we manually have to pass the IP of the GLD when logging in
2013/10/09 at 9:48 am #35109gkhewittParticipantCan I suggest that if your desk ever freezes that you capture the logs and send them to A&H via the support portal on the website. Otherwise they will never be able to investigate and actually fix the issues.
2013/10/02 at 12:41 pm #35063gkhewittParticipantYes this is possible. On the Preamp screen for the channel you can choose the input.
2013/09/27 at 6:17 pm #34994gkhewittParticipantDown to preference really. I just mute sends so that you don’t hear an abrupt end to reverb/echo etc.
2013/09/18 at 2:57 pm #34824gkhewittParticipantExcellent news! However the page appears to be broken

2013/09/16 at 4:41 pm #34806gkhewittParticipantBest to use Recall Filter on the scenes. This is what we do (one scene for Switch to Dante, another for Switch to dSnake).
Come next week we can easily email round show files to load into GLD Editor to show what we are doing
2013/09/04 at 11:51 am #34730gkhewittParticipantI also had issues with the onboard NIC on our PC just because it was fairly cheap and nasty.
Bought one of these: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/network-adapters/gigabit-network-adapters/gigabit-ct-desktop-adapter.html
All seems OK now. Perhaps something to consider if you’re using an onboard NIC.
2013/08/21 at 8:49 am #34665gkhewittParticipantYes, check the clock settings. Most likely the GLD and DVS aren’t synchronising properly.
The way we have it setup, make sure that in Dante Controller under device view that the brklyn module is set as slave to external word clock. Then, the GLD itself should be set as ‘preferred master’ in Settings.
2013/08/04 at 6:01 pm #34549gkhewittParticipantCould you use them on the FX Send/Return (like an aux) rather than an insert? This way you could have the mute command for either the send or receive on a softkey.
2013/08/04 at 5:40 pm #34548gkhewittParticipantI don’t think there are any restrictions you can level on the GLD Remote App. Even though it prompts for a login, I don’t think there are actually any real permissions that can be set.
As Chris says there is the Onemix app now, that gives access purely to a specified Aux to allow band members etc to mix their own monitors or in-ears.
2013/08/03 at 10:54 am #34538gkhewittParticipantGreat!
Regarding scenes – they will save and allow recall of patchbay settings (in other words, the IO screen). So we have one scene called “Dante ON” which sets the patchbay to receive inputs from Dante, and another called “Dante OFF” which returns the patchbay to inputs from the standard DSnake inputs. You can then set the recall filter on both to exclude all other settings (so everything is filtered apart from the patchbay).
We then have these two scenes mapped to softkeys to allow for quick on/off.
