I’d suggest checking the power supply cleanliness. I can’t recall if there is a powered cooling fan, but it sounds like it could be heat related. Maybe a heatsink that is filled with dust, etc…..
I have not had our T112 opened up so I really can’t say what’s “under the hood”……

Yea, I do see the trim dial, but I see no way to see the actual trim numerical value(like on the surface). The option “Show level on faders” doesn’t seem to affect being able to see the value.

We have since updated to V1.94

By chance have you tried to ‘move’ or copy the channel to another location on the surface and see if the problem exists in the alternate position.
Even if just for diagnostic testing purposes. I understand it’s not something you want to do during a active production…….

This may help determine if the issue is a physical issue with the fader mechanism or if it’s a software issue with the channel setup/properties.

If you have the space on the surface, you just have to address the 2 separate strips to the same mix rack input.
The split occurs after the pre-amp module so any pre-amp adjustment affects both channels.
Due to that, I would advise that you set only 1 channel with actual pre-amp control, or leave the pre-amp set and set both channels with digital trim only.(this is a setting on the pre-amp parameter screen per channel or system wide on all channels)

I suppose I should have asked what are you working with, surface, rack, firmware version, single/dual rack setup, etc,,,,,

I’ve not had any issues with Editor 1.94. (Offline single rack config in a win10 Vm.) Worked with it for a couple of hours on and off today.
opening shows, editing scenes, saving shows, changing mmo outputs, mix rack config, etc…
Didn’t need compatibility mode. This was on my desktop at home, can’t say how/if it will/wont work with an ‘on-line’ connection.

Can’t say as I’m impressed with Win10, but time will tell. I still have more testing with my software to see if I put it in full production, since not all my programs play well with Linux. 🙁

Another option would be a PC or laptop running iLive Editor software, and connected to the network.

Another FYI for IOS users…… I read today that Apple has stopped signing versions older than 9.0, thus removing ability to roll back to anything older………

By chance have you tried this with a fresh, new show? Possibly you have a corrupt show file?

If you were using the T112 surface, you could connect the CD audio to one of the sets of inputs on the back of the surface.

Don’t think you can do any other way across the network outside of Dante, or an expansion. And I think even with Dante, you would need another cat5 cable, because I’m not sure that you can mix them over the same Ace cable.(I could be wrong on that though)

Only be aware that there were some systems, specifically the IDR rack that won’t swallow the upgrade. Seems to only affect the units that came stock with 1.83
Not sure what a dealer does to get it to take(or if they send it to an A&H center), but we had to send our IDR-32 out to get the 1.91 upgrade to take, then the further update to 1.94 later went just fine.

By chance have you tried your ace connection direct, without a switch, just to make sure that the surface will talk to the mix rack to begin with.

Are you hearing the hiss in the mains? Aux sends?
Does it continue when the channel is muted?
    Gate control?
    Any insert assigned?
    Digital trim level?

When you pafl the channel, can you determine where the hiss starts in the chain?
With the channel selected, as you select the individual ‘sel’ buttons (ie, pre-amp, gate, eq, compressor) for the different areas, if you hold the ‘sel’ button you can listen at that point in the audio chain.

Are all the affected channels on the same input card? possible defective card.

Our setup is with an IDR-48, and we can have an occasional hiss, and more often than not it’s when a channel is padded with high gain.

Can you share with us what version, and on what format are you trying to use.

Well, it’s not too terribly difficult, but…. there are multiple ways to do it.

1ST STEP, BACK UP ALL SHOWS, AND LIBRARIES. They should be safe, but……………

BE ADVISED…. WHEN DOING THIS UPGRADE YOU WILL LOOSE ANY/ALL USER LOGINS AND PASSWORDS. When successful the system will reboot to admin user and no password.

The easiest for me was to use a USB thumb drive.
Take that downloaded zip file and uncompress it. It should create a folder named “firmware” with about 91Mb of stuff in it.
Copy that folder to the USB thumb drive.
Connect the thumb drive to the back of your surface, go to the system utility screen and select the option tab for firmware update.
It should show you your current firmware setup for the surface, touchscreen, and your mixrack
It should do a scan to look for the new firmware(on the thumb drive).

Follow the prompts to update the system(should take less than 10 minutes). If the update fails, it will roll back to the previous version..

We had issues with our iDR32 when trying to upgrade from 1.83 to 1.91, we never could get it to update in house, we had to have our dealer take it to their shop for update(I don’t know if they actually fixed it in house or if they sent it to A&H for service). Since then we have updated to 1.94(just last month) with no problems.

Thanks Mark. That’s kind of what I wondered.
Occasionally we have to turn up some of the direct out levels for our Aviom system(via MMO) feed. It’s not an issue when we are at the surface, but sometimes I would want to setup a show in editor and was thinking I could dial them up in advance. I know that the settings are saved in the EQ user library when saved, so long as it doesn’t get copied over………..which can and does happen.
Not a big deal, just a small quirk keep an eye on and get used to.

    Scott.
