OK I re-read you post. When you say all channels are assigned to one of 4 groups, do you mean on the ME-1 or the console? If ME-1, then perhaps you have Dante sending the signal post pan. I would check to see if Dante is set to post pan and if so, unclick that setting & see if that helps.

There are some rules about linking two channels together: I think it is odd# channel first, even# channel second (Ex ch 1&2, 13& 14). Don’t know if that is the reason you are having trouble.
The only reason I would link a stereo pair is so I can use one fader strip to control both left and right channels, volume mute, compression, gate etc. on the console for FOH. Saves desktop space if limited.
    That having been said:

I own 6 ME-1’s and LOVE them! I do not use Dante, but seems to me if you have a stereo channel, it consists of 2 signals, L & R which take two inputs (I know, real basic stuff you already know).
Ex: If I have a stereo keyboard or two OH’s, I create a button as a group on the ME and assign the two channels of a stereo pair to it, then turn up the volume to max on both & pan them within the group to L & R. Then I name the group Keys or OH’s.
Press the assigned button, rotate for volume, play on! Seems that should work for Dante channels as well. Isn’t that what you are trying to do?

After you select mono aux there are 2 boxes below that default to 1 thru 1, meaning you only want to assign one output on the AR. Just touch the 1 in the left box and rotate the controller to 4 and apply. If you want to have aux 1-4 on the first 4 outputs on the 3rd row, start with the lower left out out, select mono aux, the highlight the right box, rotate to 4 so it reads 1in the left box 4 in the right box, then apply and it you will have aux’s 1-4 on the bottom row of outputs. Same idea works in assigning inputs & assigning other routing from the console.

I would go with the sheilded cable, particularly with a long run you describe. Not likely you will get interference, but better to be safe than sorry.

A better way to recall & move from scene to scene would be nice. I ran FOH for 9 performances of a production of Les Miserables in Portland, OR, but on an analog board. 19 wireless mics going on and off throughout the performance. Copious notes on the score to indicate when to do what and also inserted some sound effects at various times via a laptop as well. Kept me pretty busy.

Wonderful production and lots of fun, but would love to have been able to program the mixer changes on a GLD and move from scene to scene with one or two buttons & nanme them by the measure of the score. Would have been sweet.

I have not looked yet, but does the new editor program allow us to see a listing of scenes programmed so they can be easily found?

OK, looked at your profile and you are in Solvang, CA. I was just down there recently, my cousins live in SB and I grew up in LA.
If I had known you were there, would have come by to say hi.

    Joe:
Yes, brilliant idea. There are 6 musicians requesting HB and drummer wants a line feed. So looks like 7 auxes + stereo (FOH?) + wedges??? Should work fine.
Now how to get the auxes into the HB system..HB hub will probably need to be on stage, so that means you have 12 returns for HB aux’s, wedge and FOH. Should work.
Most likely the feed to video will come from FOH GLD console as it will be closer to the video camera (maybe).
    Good luck and have fun!

BTW I describe the ME-1 as an Aviom on steriods. Love them.

    Joe:
Good luck with this gig, you are a brave soul to take this on. HB is good, have used it extensively with GLD via MMO card (+ 24 track recording at the same time via ADAT outs)until I got hooked on the ME-1’s. I have 6 of those now…love them!

I do not know if the Dante out will work with the HB system, I doubt
    it.

Mixing for the HB system will be complex. You only get 6 channels other than the 2 stereo, so you have to be selective in what goes to what channel. With this Setup no one will get a “more ME!” knob, eveything will have to be grouped (vocs, drums, keys, guitars, computer PB, ?). Easiest way to do this is using auxes.
They also want wedges? Hope you are geting paid well for this one.

PS Generally the fan tail of the DA-88 are TRS jacks, so you will probably need converters from TRS Fe to XLR Fe.

You could send the video guy the same stereo mix you will send to the HB unit (probably use 2 return jacks on the GLD console). However with this setup, you will soon run out of return jacks on the AR2412. You have 12, 8 will be used up for the HB, 2 FOH, 2 left..wedges, IEM? Do you own a AR84 or two? That could give you more.

Good luck, wish I could be more helpful.

I have not done this, but here is my best guess:

Yes, Dante for both desks. For monitor desk, one Dante out to laptop or desktop with Dante virtual sound card software installed for recording, the Dante out goes to FOH desk. Monitor desk controls gain, FOH should switch to trim for FOH gain control.
    Should work fine.

    Have fun!

I use MMO card ADAT outs to JoeCo recorder, but I have only one GLD, run monitors from FOH or use ME-1’s for either in-ear or wedges. Only drawback using ME-1’s for wedges is lack of GEQ and RTA on desk.

    Kevin:

    I bought this from ProAdvantage:

    16-Port ES1100-16P 10/100 POE Switch 1 $106.58

8 of the ports are POE, 8 not POE. Works great, not managed, no clicks.
    Cheers

I suspect your switch may have an option to “un-manage” If it does, select that. The clicks usually mean the switch (or other equip) and GLD are not in synch. The switch may be trying to be the master..I am not sure.
I have no problems using an unmanaged switch with POE for my ME-1’s.
