Thanks Alex
2018/01/29 at 4:36 pm #68547I have been a Logic user for 8 years but i am not planning to get Pro Tools for Mac in hopes that the DAW controller works better. I haven’t heard any problems with PT and the Daw control so far.

2018/01/28 at 9:20 am #68510There is a problem with the DAW controller it does not work with HS OS. The older OS that it did work with was accidentally upgraded and now it dosent work.
I bought this as a DAW controller first and a mixer 2nd. So this make it an Epic fail with Mac so protools is not far off in my future. I haven’t heard of issues with pro tools so far.
2018/01/28 at 8:54 am #68509Since the high sierra upgrade the daw control does not work and the copy of the OS i had was accidentally updated win a way that prevents it from working with the Qu 32 as a DAW controller which is why i purchase it. Thinking about posting a youtube about it.
Stu2018/01/22 at 5:50 am #68381It’s been quite a while and Apple and Allen Heath have not solved the DAW control problem between them. This is unfortunate. The Qu price range is great and it’s potential is awesome. I fear I will have to switch to pro tools to have the nirvana that almost was with Logic Pro. The Qu appeared to be a god send to small studio owners looking for a 1 to 1 mixer control in their Logic Pro studio, but instead has become more like purgatory.
I don’t look forward to the learning curve of Pro Tools, but convenience rules in my studio. I wonder if a class action suit would help light a fire under the two companies to solve this problem.

2018/01/22 at 4:43 am #68378Hello Cantona, I read the release notes for the new firmware and it was not created to fix the the Logic DAW issue. It is just for the Eco System/ accessories for the Qu. I may switch to Pro Tools in the near future. I don’t use Eco system Qu products so there is no need to upgrade for me.

2018/01/15 at 8:10 pm #68260I have not installed it yet. For me the Q is close to nirvana if they could fix this problem. I really don’t want to switch to pro tools.
2017/10/23 at 1:07 pm #65813Too late for me. i upgraded by mistake with auto upgrade settings. Luckily i had a drive set aside just for Logic so it wasn’t a total disaster. I notice that for the DAW groups in logic it does not let you set up the four groups like before. It just has Q32 in and out. I did notice that I could turn off my Qu32 and leave the Mac Pro on and it reconnected for the computer sound out which is an improvement. Right now it looks like you have to set each channel assignment in the DAW which is a step backwards from before then you could set fader assignment in groups of 8. Hopefully this will get fixed within the next couple of months.

2017/03/02 at 2:35 pm #61741Hello Ratchet, is it possible to copy the fader settings from layer 1 and paste them to the custom layer?

2017/02/28 at 8:59 am #61656Thanks for this information. I think I might switch to ProTools or DP.
2017/02/27 at 3:13 pm #61645In the picture you displayed. You will notice a small white circle in the upper right hand corner with an !. That means there is a problem with the connection.
So to refresh it. first select it. Then go to the left column and tap on the midi select (three) spots above the color palette rectangle and reselect midi 1 for both like you do during regular setup.
This works best if you have created a template. Then I would leave everything on for the whole day.
When you start up the Qu must be started first and you should setup daw control to start when your is turned on. If you don’t know how to do this google how to start apps at startup.
Hope this helps

2017/02/24 at 10:50 am #61559Yes it does. You will find it on the touch screen after you select a channel. You will not see it if you have the main L/R selected. In order to engage it you must press and hold for about a second.
2017/02/24 at 10:41 am #61558I will try to help you as best I can. I am not an A&H rep or anything in fact my Qu 32 is my first purchase with them. Kinda disappointed. But the refresh should work. Are you using a Mac Pro? I can walk you through what I did that made it more tolerable.
I use a mac pro motu midi patchbay. The aforementioned are the main pieces of equipment that effects the QuStuart
2017/02/17 at 10:14 am #61418Hello Cantona, Everyone has this problem that is running Logic. What I did learn through trial and error is that you don’t have to delete and redo.
When you return after shut down look at each Mackie control in the upper right corner you will see a little white information button. You don’t have to press it.
Click on each daw control and refresh them. You do this by Right Clicking on DAW 1 choose show hide inspector. when the inspector comes up click on input port choose 1 output choose 1. Continue this for the other DAW controls.
2017/02/17 at 10:00 am #61417This is useless information when you are told this is a known issue and you are working on the problem. The issue with Logic and the A&H fader issue is several years old and yet no disclaimer to future buyers that this problem has persisted for 4 years.
It certainly would have make me think twice about this. I am warning people on Apple community about this. I would love to know the timeline of when this problem will be fixed.
I guessing my factory warranty doesn’t cover the software issue. I am just 4 months into purchasing this. Totally frustrating. This should hurt the brand. It certainly has for me. -
