I’m not a professional sound engineer, so please bear with me on this. So here’s the thing.

We ordered a Focusrite 2i2 for our church because we plan to record the whole band and the preacher. I know that the QUSB can record via a flash drive, but for some reason, the recording has some dropouts on the signal. So we wanted to record all the inputs (vocals, instruments, and preacher) with the processing or the mix to be different from the house mix (so separate processing for the house and the recording). Can you guys walk me through how to do that? I would really appreciate your expert pieces of advice.

I’m not an expert at all but my advice would be to make sure to get your QU-drive to work properly. If that doesn’t work out you can still record directly to a computer using usb. Search YouTube for tutorials and read the manual.

In other words: you don’t need an external interface 🤷🏼‍♂️

    Good luck !

I understand that. I was able to record via USB cable however, the recorded audio is really low. I was wondering if there is a way to have a separate mix for recording and the live sound.

You will need to set up a dedicated mix to use for recording or set up up matrix output to use for the recording send.
Both of those will let you bring up the recording level, using a mix will let you adjust the mix levels of the inputs going to the recording.
In the IO patch menu you will need to select the proper output to the QU Drive or the USB B output.

I checked on the QuPad, and all of the subgroups are occupied by the IEMs, SOH, Wedges, and Subwoofers. I wanted to check if there is a way to send the recording to a different channel strip like the Mix Output 9-10. However, I checked the I/O, and it seems that they’re occupied as well.
