    Ask KeithJ

Maybe it has often been asked by more people but I could not find it again, my question is that there will be another update for the SQ in the near future, the last update was a very long time ago, which means that it will be with updates is done ? and the fucus goes to new mixers? and is it no longer supported with new updates? I would like to know, thanks

The rumor floating around in a few places is that development on the SQ/Avantis/dLive firmware was held up by the parts shortages they were having and the internal dev work on the CQ series — now that both of those seem to have been resolved, one hopes new updates are around the corner! I would love to see at least the simultaneous USB-to-laptop and USB-recording that the QU series has, and the feedback suppressor plugin the CQ series has. Have to see, though!

“To clarify – although there is nothing planned for imminent release, there will be more feature updates for the SQ in the future. Promise.” Keith Johnson, July 2023

You should not hope also the next years in vain because of this smart formulation.
“In the future” is not a period of time, but just an infinite time. 🙂

Well again, I’m sure the R&D team responsible for firmware updates is relatively small. They have been quite busy recently with the release of multiple new products and the DLive 2.0 release. What’s next and how long before it’s released? We can only speculate. But we are obviously getting closer to an inevitable feature update for both the Avantis and SQ.

I am personally happy to wait. 😉 After all, the best things often come to those who are patient. Plus, anticipating the future keeps things exciting and full of possibilities!
