Please make it so you can load showfiles from your USB to the Mixpad app without using the console. All other manufacturers offline editors allow this and we don’t always have the console in front of us when we have to make or change a show file.PLEASE!!!

Maybe you should clarify your feature suggestion in the thread title?

    There IS a “Offline Mixpad” … 😉

Of course, this is already possible in the MixPad.
The best would be to read under MixePad – Help the section “Offline mode”.

I was told by Allen & Heath this isn’t possible. The only way to get a show into mixpad at this time is a push – pull which you need the console for. I want to load a file into Mixpad to work on it, but don’t have access to the console. Hence I want to load a show file from a USB which according to them, you can’t yet. If you know how, please tell me. TIA

Why don’t you just read the recommended section of the help?
I quote from it for you:
“If a PC (Windows or Mac) is being used, you must set a working directory at the bottom of the Utility > Shows screen.
To work with shows on a USB device that has been formatted in the SQ, this should be set to ‘[USB Drive]:/AHSQ’.
This means shows, scenes and libraries can be stored on the USB device for use directly with the SQ later.”

This functionality exists on the Windows/Mac versions of the software, just not the iPad version. Honestly this makes sense because if you are using it as on offline editor, using a full computer(with more storage, keyboard, etc) is a better option IMHO.

Ah – sorry – I couldn’t tell anywhere that he use an iPad.
And the help function mentioned may not be there either.

This makes sense from a development standpoint; however it does feel clumsy to have to push files over to a computer just to work on them using the exact same interface we have on the iPad, especially since my new iPad is several times faster than the older Mac I use in the studio!

I wouldn’t argue they should spend a lot of time on this vs. some other features I can think of (e.g., making MixPad more functional at higher resolutions), but since iCloud storage for apps is right there and would make an easy transfer mechanism, it would certainly be nice to have the MixPad directory move into my iCloud drive (at least as an option).
