Just FYI, A&H has verified the bug and are working on a fix for whenever the next update might be. In the meantime, David Schumann patched Mixing Station Pro a couple days after I showed him the bug, so MSP no longer sends out nonsense routings.

The bug is actually in the mixer, triggered by nonsense settings from the app.

In Mixing Station Pro, if I assign USB25 to Ch1, and then assign it to Ch2, the mixer crashes.
Interestingly, USB26 can be set and unset or reset with either app, no problem.

If I want a 2nd output that mirrors the output of L-R Main

One way to do that is to use a spare mix, set all channels to post fader, and all faders to 0. For a recording send, this gives you the advantage of not sending them your system EQ, and you can reduce the output level if they need without compromising anything else. If you want to get fancy, you can even tinker with their mix.

One option appears to be a product such as the MOTU LP32 (https://motu.com/products/avb/lp32), which accepts USB and converts to either analog or ADAT optical.

The LP32 is an interface, not a host. You can’t hook it directly to a Qu32. You’d have to run them both to a computer and do the routing in there somehow. $600 for the MOTU, $500 for a computer, and you’ve got a really fiddly monitor system with a million failure points. Use the X32 you probably already have, or sell the Behringer gear and move up.

    Kingston data travler SE9

They’re on the compatibility chart with multiple entries saying “won’t record”.

David, thanks for fixing the stagebox patch bug. Amazing developer response time.

Dunno what to tell you. Patched a few channels the same way.

Unlike incandescent bulbs, LEDs care about which pin is positive. There are several standards for wiring this standard outlet, all set up before that mattered.

Standards are useful. That’s why there are so many of them.

    11.85v is well within spec.

It will be a week before I have the stagebox and the mixer together, but I will check then.

For instance, if I plug in back to back AB168s, and patch them 1:1, does MSP think my channel 17 gain is ch1 of stagebox a, or extender stagebox b?

There’s a bit of a bug with stageboxes in Mixing Station Pro Qu. It assumes 1:1 patching.

I have my AB168 16 stagebox channels patched in 9-24. Mixer ch9 (stagebox ch1) is getting the value of mixer ch17 (stagebox ch9).

David is aware of it, and I expect he will fix it when he can. Could take some doing, since at the moment, MSP doesn’t even have an input patching page. I can work around it for now by sticking with 1:1 patching, or using the iPad app for gains.

My question for anyone here is what happens with an extender stage box? If I plug in a second AB168, or plug my AB168 into a AR2412, what gain values will MSP see up there?
Can somebody try that and report back?

It might be possible from iPad. There are several apps that do some MIDI translation. I haven’t explored that, because it’s so easy on Android. You run the Qu version of Mixing Station Pro, plug in pretty much any MIDI controller, and configure it in the app. You can buy an Android tablet that will handle it for under $50. Depending on where you are, the Barnes and Noble 7″ Nook, which has 5 gHz WIFI, is on sale right now for $30. MSP costs a few bucks, and you’re good to go.

i’d like qu-pad uтderstand midi commands from external midi controller connected via camera connection kit

    bind controller to fader/mute/pan/dca/soft key/etc

it will be really great use physical faders anywhere!

You can do that now. A&H MIDI is very well documented.

If you’re on this forum, you probably already have the hardware. Qu makes a fine interface for Studio Six apps. Also for full blown Rational Acoustics SMAART. A&H could implement Rational’s API, and display my SMAART trace right on screen in the PEQ frame.
