Have you tried hooking up a VGA screen to the VGA port on the back of the surface? I’m assuming that the channel LED’s still work and that the surface can still control the Mixrack. This would be a major inconvenience, but you could still use the board with iLive Editor or a remote VGA screen until a new touchscreen arrives. It shouldn’t take a good technician more than a day or two to install the new screen.

Can you take a look at the Delay settings on the screen of the QU, then enter those settings in to the SQ’s Delay?

Or (if the Delay is anything like the iLive) try:

    -Stereo Delay (link off)
-One Delay time half the second delay time (250 and 500 ms.)
    -Width at full

I’ve been a Xilica user for the last 18 years and I think they sound great. I’ve got an older DLP 4080 and I noticed a sonic improvement the first time I used it. The newer XD line has AES In/Out at 24/96, so there shouldn’t be any degradation with this option. https://xilica.com/products/xd/

    Hi Steffen:

For sure; not to mention that I also have a couple of Powersoft amps on the Network being controlled with Armonia tunnelled down the FOH snake from the FOH PC. This is really a question for Nicola. Such is the price of going hi-tech!

Tap Tempo can be done on the Touchscreen directly on the Delay tempo or assigned to a Soft Key, both on the surface or in iLive Editor.

I’ve experienced a similar thing on both my T-112 and T-80, but it could be from a different cause than yours. Only a technician that knows the insides could troubleshoot it. In the case of the T-80, my tech took apart all the ribbon & Ethernet connectors, cleaned them, then put them back together. He then tried to replicate the problem for 2 1/2 months, and it behaved perfectly. I’ve had it out on a few shows so far and it’s been fine. Maybe it’s time to check, clean and re-seat all the internal connections?

Are the Monitor Aux sends set to “Pre”? This can be changed by selecting the Aux, then pressing Routing (under the screen) or in Editor at the top of each strip once the Mix button is pushed on the Aux. You can also (in Editor) press Mix on the iPod channel, then go to the Aux Faders and look at the top of their strips.

    Hi Technolive:

It could be a mechanical issue. I’d first try running iLive Editor in Input view watching the assigned faders while switching banks to see when they move, if they all move together an by the same amount. Worn moving faders can be erratic. You could also open a support ticket either with Allen & Heath UK or with the distributor in your own country.

    Hi KB:
Thanks for your reply. I tried your tip and it worked perfectly! In the 3 1/2 years I’ve had my iLive, I’ve never used Mixpad. I find it quite un-intuitive, and it doesn’t work the way I would expect it to. In the heat of a gig, I can’t get around on it. I’ll have to study the manual and spend some time with it, I guess. I have iLive Editor on my iPad as a virtual desktop and that has all the features I need.

Actually just now I tried adjusting levels (in Demo mode) in two separate Aux Mixes and that doesn’t work either. The Aux 1 levels are mirrored in Aux 2. I’ll see if it works when I’m actually connected to a mixer.

    -thanks, Mark

What we’re trying to narrow down is the origin of the problem: Surface, Mixrack or snake. If the CD player is being played from FOH and the sound cuts out, it could easily be the Surface or Snake. If a band is playing from the Mixrack and the sound cuts out, it’s probably not the snake or Surface. Can you tell us exactly what source was in use when the sound stopped?

Was the sound source plugged in to the Surface or Mixrack? If the source was plugged in to the surface it could be a bad snake cable or problem with the ACE ports. If the source was plugged directly in to the Mixrack then it’s an internal problem with the rack.

    Hey Underscore:
If Dual-Rack mode doesn’t work with the Mixpad app, it might work with a Virtual Desktop program. If you can see both racks Editor, you could control the PC with VNC . I use VNC (controlling Editor) instead of Mixpad, as Editor can control every function of the iLive system. Also, whenever I run an ACE split system (Mains/Monitors) Editor can control both mixracks, so I have control of the Monitor board from FOH.
