    Hi 1972:

My iPad is an iPad 1 with IOS 5.1.1. I downloaded and installed iLive Onemix back in 2015 and the version available at that time works perfectly on my iPad 1. I often work with musicians on IEM’s and it makes my job much easier if they can dial in their own mixes. Some have i-Pads with Onemix installed, but for those that don’t…

About a year ago I bought 5 iPad 1’s from ebay (with chargers) for $125.00. I backed my iPad up to the cloud, then downloaded it to the recently purchased iPads. Effectively they are all clones of my iPad. The old version of Onemix is now on each of these pads and they work fine. I also built a case for them with a 10-port USB charger and space for mic stand clamps (see attached pictures).

What kind of iPad do you have and what version IOS is running on it?

No difference in sound quality or internal processing: every iLive Mix Rack can mix 64 Inputs down to 30 Busses with 8 Effects. The only difference is in the amount of physical Inputs and Outputs each Mixrack has. I’ve mixed shows of over 40 inputs at FOH on an iDR-16 when it was receiving those Inputs (via ACE) from my iDR-48 monitor rack.

The LR will go to a set of matrix outputs instead of directly to the speakers.

This is exactly what I do ( a Stereo Matrix) as it leaves the processing on the Main L/R flat for sending to other sources; delay speakers, fills, video, etc. I run my subs from a mono Post-Fade Aux, as I want to be able to selectively send certain Inputs to the Subs, as well as vary the level of those Input in the Sub.

    Hi BMP:

What exactly do you mean by “disconnecting” the Sub channel from the Main? Are they Ganged together so that adjusting parameters on the Mains also adjusts them on the Sub? Linking Main faders (and selected parameters) can be accomplished by Ganging the Main L & R together.

I’ve posted every iLive document I could find for download here. Also if you wanted to upload and post a link to the .xml show file I could take a look at it.

    Hi DeMalaga:

Just wanted to let you know that I tried the trick you suggested of sliding a piece of paper between the screen and frame. It worked! The screen is back to full functionality. Thanks again.

    Hi DeMalaga:
Thanks for the tip; I’ll try dis-assembling it and cleaning around the screen. I use this board for quite a few outdoor shows over the summer and am constantly cleaning a thin layer of dust off it, so that could be it.

I was planning to buy an I-Pad 1 from ebay in the next few weeks to confirm that I can download and install One-Mix. If this is not possible then we need to lobby Allen & Heath to make this app available. It’s one thing to not update it for use with newer OS’s, but to remove it completely will be a problem for many user’s.

    Hi Nick:

That’s bad news. What iOS version is on the I-Pad with One-Mix installed, and what iOS version is the I=Pad you are trying to put it on?

    Hi Kevin:
Thanks for posting this info. I also Have a T-112 and T-80. Do you have any documentation explaining how to get in to BIOS mode on the T series?

    -thanks, Mark

    Hi Daven:
I can help you with that, but first a few questions:

    1) Are you working from the T-112 Surface, or through iLive Editor?
    2) Have you configured (set up) some monitor mixes under MixRack/Mixer Config? The Mixrack button can be found under the Touchscreen.

I’ve posted a folder of all the iLive documents I could find. You can download it here: https://spaces.hightail.com/receive/96PWo5HlCD. I’d start with the “Getting Started Guide”.

Most of the iLive pages and videos from Allen & Heath are still on line here: https://www.allen-heath.com/key-series/ilive-series/ . Hit the Videos button under the main picture.

I think you’re referring to iLive “Mixpad” for the FOH mixer. Formerly $100.00, it has been free for the past 5-6 years. I’m referring to iLive “Onemix” for musicians to control their own In-ears. It’s still listed in the App store for 7.99 British pounds.

So I heard back from A&H tech support (U.K.). They are aware of the problem, but are not sure if they can commit the resources to updating this “very old discontinued product”. A bit disappointing; I have about $35,000.00 invested in the iLive line (not including cases) and as much as I’d love to run out and buy a pair of dLives, it ain’t happening any time soon.

My solution is this: Apple I-Pad 1’s are available on ebay for $15-20.00 each, and won’t update the OS past iOS 5 or so. The cheapest option is to buy 4-5 pads for $100.00, load them up with One-Mix, and hand them out on gigs. This way I’ll know that they’re configured properly and hassle free.

I’m also wondering why A&H is still charging for One-Mix if it won’t work with current iOS’s?

    Hey Stix:
So sorry; you’re absolutely right! I thought the mixer was sitting on its back, but the channel LED’s are below the control section, not above. It’s been so long since I’ve seen my iLives I’m forgetting what they look like.
