… no – you also must swap to local b inputs on surface.
in the sg-inventory/connection window you just assign the desired waves-channels.
e.g. ch1-32 for recording and 33-64 for processing live – so do i—

office@inlinemedia.at2013/02/17 at 2:00 pm #33165… my recommendation: m-waves card []
you get superbly programmed driver from waves (asio+coreaudio) and can record/play back 64 channels w/ 24bit/48khz
take a look therefore …

office@inlinemedia.at2013/01/15 at 4:58 pm #32676… there is no way to connect the PL-devices to a fixed-format surface because you need the
PL-Anet port.
this is on the idr-mixrack and on modular-surfaces, only.cheers,

office@inlinemedia.at2013/01/13 at 1:04 pm #32639hi!
… i use the m-waves card and it is awesome [8D]
there are superb driver available from waves (asio and coreaudio) – so you can use rhe card as a 64 channels in/out soundcard.
i am using a soundgrid server for live-processing, too. and yes: you need to buy tdm plugs for this.cheers,

office@inlinemedia.at2012/12/07 at 9:03 am #32357hi!
i use the m-waves card for recording/playback (64 channels bidirectional).
it costs the same like dante but if you want you can use it for live-processing with waves-plugins, too
… and the driver is very well programmed by waves (coreaudio + asio)kind regards,

office@inlinemedia.at2012/10/29 at 6:42 am #31830… please refer to the pdf, which shows the necessary cat cable to run soundgrid systems properly (on waveslive.com)
for best performance you must use cat6 cable stp (shielded)greetz,

office@inlinemedia.at2012/10/28 at 5:22 pm #31822… i am using a belden 1305a catsnake cat5e cable.
it is designed for mobile live-use and is unshielded.
i carry this on a schill drum and the length is 90m with ethercons.my swith is a dlink dgs-1005 – this is a model, which is recommended by waves.
there are some other models that are recommended – but the main thing is, that the switch must support jumboframes.
no problems at all – but: if do not use a second sg server (redundancy) you don’t need a switch. this is because the wavescard has a 3port gigbit switch on boardgreetz,

yes it works!
just take care of the very well documented movies and pics on the ilive website and on http://www.waveslive.com.i do this with 2 servers (one for redundancy). the wavescard is bridged to one of the network ports on the idr, one port of the card goes straight to my gigabitswitch and the 2 servers are plugged in there.
on foh my macbook pro with multirack soundgrid is connected to one of the network on my surface and runs all plugins.in my stagerack there is a macmini that is configured to do recordings – and this mini is remote-controlled through the ace-cable with my macbook pro on foh, too

office@inlinemedia.at2012/07/16 at 7:23 am #30995… you have to use cat5e or cat6 cables.
this is mentioned in the manual because of the gigabit infrastructure.
try an (also) inexpensive cat5e cable and see if there are dropouts, too.
my recommendation is to place the recording-computer onstage – so you have very short
cable-runs (dantecard -> pc) and you can remote this from foh tunneled through ace.
by the way: i’m recording with logic, too …hope this helps

office@inlinemedia.at2012/06/17 at 10:20 am #30843… i mean: you have to deactivate the sg driver on the mac you run multirack sg.
this is because the m-waves card sees the mac as a “big” multichannel soundcard and wants to transport all audio through ace.
but with multirack sg you just send/receive controldata to the server.that are my considerations …
