I have a venue I would put something like this in. It’s a banquet hall with no real analog inputs of its own (all the wired/wireless inputs are routed to a Dante network through one means or another) so an option card would be a must. Though our current method of leaving the GLD-80 on in one of the other rooms and controlling the mix to that room with the OneMix app seems to be working all right for now, it would be nice to have a small physical desk.

The QU suggestion forum seems to reinforce the need for a digital A&H mixer with highly flexible i/o (GLD) that can fit in a 19″ rack. I want to suggest that A&H add a R72 to the GLD family to fill this need. Please add your thoughts and support below to this thread.

I should add that we are very satisfied with our GLD80. Having an ultra compact GLD option with flexible i/o routing would be a huge benefit.

    mervaka –

The iLive-T was introduced NAMM of ’09, just 5 years old. I’m not a whiner about constantly demanding more and better free features, and I’ve pretty much agreed with all of your posts. I do remember A&H in the past mentioning an upcoming pitch shifter for the iLive-T series and have been waiting to no avail. I could not give a hoot about the dynamic eq or multiband comp, a couple of studio tools, but if I saw any kind of pitch tool, I would be complete.

I’ll keep using my R72 or T112 until something better comes along, but that time is not here yet.

    Cheers,

I’m having a problem with the lock surface feature…….not that it doesn’t work but rather that it is easily defeated by pressing the unlock surface button …..without any keystrokes! selecting the “power down” option will powers down the console….happened to me at intermission, camne back to find I had to reboot the console …..some audience member fooled around and “inadvertently ” powered down the iLive….please fix this……….

    thx

You can setup scenes that customise the Softkeys so you could use this feature to put all DCA mutes onto the 8 softkeys. Have a look at this older post of mine:

There should be a way to view and control all DCAs through the TouchScreen of the R72. It appears that DCA mutes can be assigned, but they cannot be controlled if they are not assigned to a strip. This is required because I control some DCA mutes from PL-10 buttons, but if someone mutes something from a PL-10 and that DCA isn’t mapped to an R72 stip and I can’t get to the PL-10, then it would be quite embarrasing — the R72 should be able to do (and un-do) anything a PL-10 can do (without having to assign each DCA mute, one at a time, to figure out what’s doing the muting).

Hey i am searching Templates for Ilive R72 , T80 and T112 – with IDR 32 that can do some expansion of the limited Fader and Gain Trim knobs for the Surfaces.

I want to install a PC Laptop with an Maudio FAsttrackpro wich gives us MIDI and an BFC and BRC beside the R72.

The PC will Run the Ilive Konsole Software and perhaps i remote it with an Android Tablett – but i want to have Knobs

    BRC schould have four Pages

Gain, Trim, Fader of Channels , Mutes, PFL , for 32 upto 64 inputs.

because i want to split the inputs 1-32 and use 33-64 as Monitorsplit in the IDR32 for inears to give the musicans an komplett diffrent mix on the wedges and inear.

BFC should have four Pages for groups and the Monitor sends like VCA DCA Faders
also they should do some Mute , PFL
Perhaps a second BFC for Matrix and Effects

I dont want this fancy i can do all were ever i want – i want a kind of analog fixed layout and go and live with it.

lets say an XL4 layout with inputs and outputs and a auxsection.

I dont belive in this lets say i want to make it as unlogical as possible and swap input and output channels and what ever iss possible.

Well can anyone help me with this.

A&H has this attetüde we dont support other Brands what is stupid becuase i am sure i am not the first asking for this feature.

bechasue the BRC and BFC is affortable and a good product for the price.

Secend Midi thing will be a more geekey thing

Behringer MIDI Footboard controller to TAP dellays and have the Master volumen on foot.

I it helps the FBC1010 could be pimp with this https://www.ossandust.be/ EPROM thats for the Kemper profiling amp but iff it helps i build it in.

Boys and Girls – from the Home Page of this “Digital Community” –

“A social network for USERS to share experiences, exchange ideas, read up and learn.” USERS.

I don’t own a QU (or GLD), but I see that probably 90% of the posts are about the QU, and many are thoughtless, inane and would be solved if the poster would RTFM. No, there are no subgroups, there are no electronic scribble strips, there is no sophisticated scene management, no sidechaining, no “extra channels” by using a stagebox, no pads on the channels, no 6-channel PEQ on any outputs, and these features ARE NOT universally found on “most other mixers”.

The QU-16 is a tool, it has specific features and capabilities. Suggestions for new features are encouraged, but I have yet to see any single feature that is the “Holy Grail” that the poster always seems to demand… for those of you who proudly (an repeatedly) declare they are in a “trial basis” situation, good luck – the amount of logical investigation (or lack of) you put into the QU will be no different than that which you will put into the competition.

I’ve been quite pleased with my A&H digital mixers (T112/idr48, R72/idr32) and have seen an amazing amount of refinements and new features and functions every single year. FOR FREE. A&H listens, and if they don’t respond on this forum to every concern of every forum member, perhaps it’s a message to show some patience and do some homework.

    Hi Wouter

my R72 takes about 2 minutes to boot.
The IDR32, R72 and the WLAN router are configured with static IP addresses, other equipment like PCs, MACs and iStuff get dynamic DHCP addresses.

How do we know if its NORMAL if you don’t tell us how long it takes to boot???

Here’s a solution- start it earlier than you need, go get a Coffee. Lol

Solution 2: check your network settings: If DHCP is enabled and there is not a DHCP server connected to the system – for example a router with DHCP enabled – boot time will be increased greatly. If this is the case either connect a DHCP server to the system or choose static IP addresses.

    Hello,

My R72 is starting up very slow… Is it normal or can I replace the HDD with an SSD or is there another solution?

You can split to any brand of desk if that desk supports Dante, Madi or Ethersound. I think the best and cheapest way using A&H hardware would be using a GLD with Dante cards for the split. If you want to stay on iLive for both then probably cheapest is an R72 and IDR16 with 2 portB ACE cards for the split. Using Dante cards to split has other advantages of course.

I have been attentive to this (earlier version) forum early on, and have enjoyed reading and replying to posts on any topic which called to me, whether I used that gear or not. I have suffered through innumerable whiners who feel their gear deserved a special place of importance herein, and those who felt features important to them and theirs were critical for everybody.

I feel this new format is cumbersome, unduly “large” and spread out, and difficult to quickly navigate. I suppose this is due to trying to make a special place for each possible piece of gear or performance feature, but now the readability and simplicity are lost to me… I use an R72/32 system, but have enjoyed scanning posts on GLD, QU, etc., but now the “layers” of navigation remind me of early users’ distaste of desks such as the 01V and unnecessary layer changes to do simple things…

I guess this now is my first official “whiner” post. I’ll leave it at that.
