• +1 This would make the IP8 so much more useful. We have tried the scene recall approach with limited success. Even our most experienced Dlive users have made mistakes when setting recall filters, which resulted in significant issues. At the end of the day, the risk is too high for us to use this in the field.

The preferred method would be to…[Read more]

  • Really interested in checking this out for the mobile phone app

  • I mix at a venue where the show management menu is not available to guest engineers. Instead, they let us import scenes. It would be very useful if we could save and export the scene back to the USB drive after the gig. The s5000 is on firmware 1.80. If I am missing how to do this, please let me know. Thanks!

  • If accurate metering is a concern, I could see some benefit to having a single LED illuminate to show when audio is present.

  • I am running Director 1.72 on a Surface Pro 4. I would like to see the Bank view follow channel select like on a DLive surface. Seems a bit odd that bank view follows layer select. For my purposes, it allows me to control the bank view with an IP8. But there are other situations where I could see the need to switch layers on my PC but still want…[Read more]

  • I use an IP8 as a small mix controller. DCAs really make this small surface effective when managing multiple channels. The only problem is I cannot see if a channel is being muted by a DCA. It would be really useful if the scribble strip mute indicator blinked when the channel is muted by a DCA, similar to mute buttons on a Dlive surface. I am…[Read more]

  • I am programming an IP8 controller to accompany a Surface Pro/Director workstation. I want the ALT button on my IP8 to activate the talkback. I don’t see a way to select this in the function assignment window. Can Custom Midi be used to activate the function? If not, is there another way of doing this?

  • I have run into this on a church’s DM48. We had to power cycle the mixrack to restart signal flow to the Dante network. Like you experienced, Dante controller did not show any sync issues.

An old thread, but I want to +1 that Direct Outputs and Aux Send tap points should have Global “defaults” and input channel “overrides”. I would like the choice of Post LPF or Post PEQ for Aux sends and I/O outs.

  • Hope this is alright to post here. Selling one of our complete GLD80 systems. Would prefer to sell locally (Pacific Northwest), but open to shipping to the lower 48 states if you will cover the freight costs. Message me if interested.

Not easily, no. I usually spec the P16 with a GLD system, using the Multi-out ADAT optical card to feed the P16i. For the QU, you’ll have to use AUX outs to feed your P16i.

Unfortunately, you’ll have a hard time getting the functionality you are looking for on the QU mixer. Best option is using the Aviom a360 on A-Net. Based on their…[Read more]

The ME-1 offers so many great features, but unfortunately it does not have individual EQ. As a result, I no longer spec them for smaller venues. Behr*** are a better option for those applications. For larger installs where you can dedicate channels for IEMs, ME-1 works great. Duplicate the channel, EQ to taste, and patch to the ME-1.

  • Would be interested in everything listed above, plus

    1. Expander
    2. RTA over PEQ
    3. Secondary solo config
    4. Preamp modeling
    5. Soft keys perform multiple functions

  • Thank you for responding, Nicola. The hang up for me is that the life cycle of A&H products is undefined. This gives A&H maximum flexibility, but leads to unnecessary anxiety for consumers. Anxiety leads to assumptions and assumptions often result in distrust.

I think A&H could really help us by defining the life cycle of their products. Let’s be…[Read more]

  • Thought the same thing at first, Mr.X. But after comparing them more, it’s clear that S Class is tour grade and C class is an entry-level dlive. The C class lacks redundancy and swappable power supplies, as well as fewer card slots, surface I/O, and DX expander ports. You also lose the left column of encoders by the screen.

    Similar chasis, same…[Read more]

  • As long as you haven’t used the option card slot on the Si expression, you have several options for connecting to a ME-1 system.

    1. Use Dante or MADI (64×64 audio paths), or A-Net (limited to 16×16 audio paths), option cards on the Si Expression

    – if you don’t have a card slot available, you can use your analog outputs to feed an Aviom AN-16/i.…[Read more]
