My first thought would be, that the Cat5E is not working properly on all 8 wires, as the AR2412 only runs 100Mbit and only use 4 of the wires for that.

No you will need a S-Link card in the SQ6 to send the Tie Lines back to the QU.

The Expander port is only to connect an AR0804 or an AB168 to the Ar2412 to expand up to max 40 inputs on that string.

The S-link is limited to 40 channels in and out as said.

One possibility could be a S-Link card in both consoles.
then connect 1 x AR2412 to each console, with the AB168 as extender on one of them.
Plug a cable direct between the consoles using eg. the S-Link cards, and use Tielines to send all inputs from one set of stageboxes to the other console (as welle as any outputs needed)

The cable direct between the consoles will be running the 96KHz protocol, giving you 128×128 signal paths between the consoles.

That way you can pick from any of the 64 AR/AB inputs as well as any local inputs on both desks, just remember you can only Process 48 channels at any time on each console.
(inputs send by Tielines does not use up any processing power on the console, unless you have that input patched to a processing channel as well)

You setup the Aux as Post fader, and only send the Keys to that one.
On the L/R mix you just mix everything as normal.
If the Keys get too much in the subs, just go to that Aux and lower the sends until it fits.

One way could be, that when you scroll the list of plugins, the non-registered/not bought ones could either be grayed out, or a simple “not registered” by the units not unlocked.

I have had this problem more or less constantly since upgrading from 1.4.4 to any 1.5.x versions.
Not been too bothered though, as I use QLab for 99% of the time.

Tried to reverse the console to 1.4.4 and the problem was gone, so my bet is something bugs out in the 1.5.x sourcecode.
