That could be useful. Could you contact UK A&H Support (https://allen-heath.helpserve.com/), to arrange sending it. Plus include any additional information like when the issue started and if there is anything else required to cause the problem.

    Hi Andy!
After crashing down my GLD completely (by changing the IP-address…[:I] ) I could “reanimate” it and with the Release 1.11 it is fast booting and stable again.
No issue with any usbstick anymore… [:)]

There is a known issue in GLD V1.10 firmware that we are currently working on. Some scenes, with names consisting of 14 characters (which is the maximum number of letters you can name a scene) can cause the GLD to crash and reboot if you store or paste into these scenes.

We will be fixing this in the next GLD maintenance release, but for the time being you can avoid this problem by re-naming any of your scenes to 13 characters or less.

We are very sorry for any trouble this may have caused, and hope to be releasing the new firmware soon.

If you experience any other problems or issues, please contact A&H Technical Support (https://www.allen-heath.com/uk/support/pages/support.aspx).

    Hi Andy!
i think its not an issue with the account of characters. I have used a USB-Stick (cruiser edge) only two shows on it – one is namend G8 and the second is named Ro4…no Templates on it, GLDfolders, ca. 4BG Wavfiles nothing else and i can quite reliable reproduce the freezing by stucking in that stick into the console…if it helps, i will send that Device by post to A&H.
    greetings.Gerald

I think the idea is that someone could be on the console and someone else mixing on the ipad, or if you have a band member mixing their own mix, it will not change the view of FOH.

Up on your IPads sreen you’ll find “setup”.
Edit: Selecting any channel on the IPAD it is apparentely not present on the console….
then on the right “Strips” and below that “help”….take a look!

Ah, that makes sense. Is there someplace I can find a complete reference guide to the features and controls of the app? Thanks for the info. Am headed to the venue for another show and will give it a full workout today. Cheers.

If Your Monitorguy with Ipad is not changing Gain/Trim, Channel-EQ or Routing…try to set several accounts by logging in the iPad shows all accounts – so i think it could work….i’ve just loadet the app…a lot to play with it….seems to be quite powerfull…

“Can I get some talent in the monitor, please.”

I can only compare to yamaha consoles to. The gld sounds really good!
one interesting point: last weekend we have had an open air job with nearly 46 degree – at the FOH. The GLD remained stable and reliable! After the show i could see, that there has been a Qos-problem between console and stageboxes or thomething like that wich the console apparentely solved itself….during the show we could not notice any failure.
So in a dusty and hot enviroment that console is really reliable and stable!
    Good Job A&H!!!
If you change your scene-management to…perfect! (yamaha can not change their channelstrip – don’t forget…;-) )

We will also try to implement a master scene which keeps all the settings of the fix outputs like childrens-room, wireless for hearing disabled, recording, which will be loaded after soundcheck so make sure, all those channels have the same settings week over week. (And to allow the operators more freedom than restricting their user permissions to much).

That you should have to save NOT as a Scene, but es a Show.
To save it as Show (within all Outputroutings and patches to your Stagbox) you must not press the “Scene”-Butten at the right side of your screen, you have to use the “setup”-button, then “memory” at the top of the screen!
So you will save ALL Parameters including Routing and Patching.
If You only save it as a scene in worst case following can happen: A BE will need an additional feed for his deaf drummer, plugs out your usually feed for the childrens-room and uses it for his act with maximal levelling on that feed….next Day you are patching it back and the children have party with ill levels, because, you recalled your right scene, but the increased Level of that PlugoutXLR has not been saved by the scenes….so it is important to understand the difference between Scenes and Shows! Your Decision to by a GLD is a good decision!
Congratulations!Definately the best choice you could do at the time!
Good Sound, really easy to handle, ton’s of FX…..I’ve got my today….after hours of playng with it I’m shure: A&H will rock the market with that nice device!

I have an other idea: Parallel to the recommended cables A&H can do an other Link: recommended USB-Sticks!
As we know, A&H Digies are a quite bitchy to some Makes of Sticks, so I think, that could help choosing the working Sticks.

For your second to last point – this is probably what you’re seeing. Your auxes are set to post fader mode, which means changes in the main level affect them. This is desirable for things like effects. For use as monitors, set them to pre fader.

As far as I know, you can assign the effects return to a fader.

So DCA -Levelchanges does not effect the preAuxes, but if I mute that DCA the prefade Auxes are muted to?

As far as I understood you will have the Difference between Shows and Szenes as follows: a show saves all input And Outputsettings inclusive Outputrouting, Patching and Assignments. A Scene saves not that Outrouting, Patching and Stageboxassigns. So I assume, that if you are not changing your Pa and Mon-Routing for every Show, to save it in Scenes will be the way in your case.

There is a wonderfull tool on the GLD: Select the AuxSendMaster, you want to work with, then press the GEQ- Button. That presents the first Half of a Graficequalizer on the Faders for that Aux, you selected before. The last Fader on consoles right will be the Master for that Aux. so you can lift up the level carfully und you will see first ringing frequencies on the channels metering exact where you need it! press GEQButton a second time and you will get presented the upper half of the GeQ for that Buss. Third press on GEQ will bring you back home to your AuxSendMix. Its really easy!

I think we can not expect a lot of free software for a system on that price. To programm an App or an editor is work, wich has to be paid to. If we are enough customers, who are willing to pay for it, i’m convinced, Allen&Heath will do it for their customers.
By decreasing prices for good Hardware, the Software will be more important to make money for the manufacturers in the future.

The most important Buttons on iLive and GLD are the Mix-Buttons. If you are coming as for example from Yamaha, this is an other way to assign your channels to Mixes, Auxes, DCA and so on, but its a very convinient and elegant way.
