    Ryan,

Not sure what you’re getting at with the Qu series comment. As this is the SQ subforum. I get the supermatrix not working for Qu/cheap/hardware limited consoles. But FPGA’s? meh, everything is on the table IMO.

Are you referencing accessing extra CUDA cores in the NVIDIA 770 (iirc) via hacked firmware? Cuz I remember those days 🙂

Yamaha first introduced the “super matrix” which is able to accept mixes, mains, and individual channels to form the ‘matrix’. Google “yamaha M7 super matrices.” dLive now has this same feature.

To be perfectly honest, audio consoles in this era should have all inputs & outputs matrixable. There’s no reason this isn’t doable with modern FPGA’s of sufficient size.

Limiting users based upon the expected target market is silly. Max IO & features should determine target market; not capabilities within those constraints.

To answer the question, you can send a single channel to the matrix (look at the input socket); this is NOT phase aligned with any matrixed sends though. Thus it is only useful for one single input. And the SQ does not have the ‘super matrix’ feature that dLive or Yamaha M7+ has.

If QU has this (and a ton of different pre/post PAFL pick off points), then I absolutely think SQ will get this.

Why it wasn’t implemented to begin with is beyond me.

Personally, I’d use Waves’ Tracks Live: https://www.waves.com/mixers-racks/tracks-live

But I can see how Adobe Audition might make for a more seamless editing process.

Make sure Windows and SQ are connecting. What OS version?

Test the output and input’s on the SQ – Windows connection. You can do that by opening the speaker properties and clicking “test”

There are two groups that you could be talking about so I’ll describe both.

    On the mixer:
There is a spot where you can route 40 different sources to the ME-1/500’s. These sources can be inputs, outputs, groups, fx, mains, etc.

For the SQ; Output patch > ME
    Page 17: https://www.allen-heath.com/media/SQ_ReferenceGuide_V1_2_0.pdf

    On the ME-1:
You can set the mix button 1-16 to: group, aux, auto, 1kHz sine, ch1-40.

For the ME-1; shift menu > select key 1-16 > select mode (group) > assign members > exit menu mode > press key > click group button > adjust according to needs.

    Gab,

Has to do with the opamp feedback circuitry.

It’s coming, we all hope in the late Q3 update. I’m expecting end of Oct.

+10? Haha, this shouldn’t even need to be stated. It’s obvious it’s needed.

You can do a form of ganging by using DCA’s to circumvent the annoying ONLY Odd/Even stereo channel linking (I would much prefer link ANY x channel with ANY y channel > “use identical channel parameters? yes/no”) – Done, that solves 99% of the problems.

No, it’s not there yet. SQ is not as fully developed as GLD, yet.

I forget if DCA causes flashing when muted/turned off. But try that?

Two scenes, safe channels from recalling anything.

One routed to USB one normally.

Record practice; switch scenes. Play tracks live.

    Hi Leon96,

I am not the authority on this matter. But as far as I know. It could go two ways.

    1) Yes. If user profile has pw then lock/unlock requires said pw (like dLive)
    2) No. User profiles control console security

(profiles coming to SQ sometime late this year, we hope).

Haven’t I stirred up the hornets nest 😉

Can’t agree more with my fellow SQ enthusiasts.

The stated features at press release & in the technical manual should have been included in initial release (or very short thereafter).

Though, as SDCyclist stated I get that the general ‘bring-product-to-market’ methodology is now: promise stuff, release stuff without promises, maybe give promises in future updates. Annoying, but we have to live with it. All the other boards have a few years of maturity on the SQ.

Really bothersome, as I’d love to install SQ boards, but I can’t. This is halting sales.
