If your ready light does not illuminate, then you could have a hardware problem – please contact your supplier / distributor for your territory.

Check your DVS in DC Device manager / network. Is the computer port showing ‘1000’ on the ethernet port (ie gigaBit).

How is your MBP running Director and connecting to the dLive. Via WiFi?
You said you were running VSC and connected to primary Dante port?

Hi – are you referring to the DX164-W or the DX168?

Just a note to say the IO [‘card’] port in a ‘secondary’ surface is not supported in a Multi-Surface setup anyway.

You can program some soft keys on the IP controller so it recalls the ‘right’ scenes no matter what user is logged in
NB you cannot change user log-ins via an IP controller – the system will stay in the last user profile
You should program IP controllers separately for ‘surface’ / ‘MixRack’ connection (e.g IP6 programmed ‘to rack’ will always function whether surface is present or not).

Hi there – well I think you had quite an experience there – nice setup by the way! It may be worth you contacting A&H support team for a scientific explanation about where each bit of data is stored, but I think there are some basic principles that might help:
‘Shows’ are stored as showfiles in the surface or editor. they can also be moved or copied to USB for transferring. They do not ‘live’ in the iDR. the iDR remembers its last ‘current’ settings it had before it was switched off.
When you create a setup like you describe with the iDR32+R72 etc, you should save the show on the R72 and also copy it to a USB key. Then if you need to change to a different MixRack or Surface, you connect them up and get them working as a system, put in the USB key and recall the show which will then ‘best fit’ the hardware. in this case you kept the R72 so all you needed to do was recall the show saved earlier on the R72. The same showfile can also be opened from the USB in editor offline or online (with or without a surface).

When you saved the show only to editor it will hold data settings from the iDR and the editor ‘virtual’ surface, such as current settings and scenes. When you then connected the R72 to the iDR48 the MixRack has its old settings, the R72 has its last show that was recalled etc but you didn’t have a complete save of the show which you needed to restore all the hardware to what you wanted.

I think that’s what happened but like I said A&H support team can explain the distributed data rules.

Inter-unit control is possible if both the iDR8 and iDR16 are networked together (by a simple cat5 or via a LAN).
but as the iDR16 is going to be switched off and on when needed and the iDR8 is going to run 24/7 it might be beneficial to control the stage mains level at all times using the iDR8 if you have enough IO to do that and the rest of the zones. That way the iDR8 is the main venue systems controller, and the iDR16 is the band and stage foldback mixer (maybe via iPad). Don’t forget you can use the balanced TRS outs on the iDR8 too with full processing, giving you 10 outputs if needed. But I am guessing you want to run the stage main PA from the iDR16 as it is located nearer to the amps than the the iDR8?
The iDR8/PL10 can control levels in the iDR16 if you need it too but it may need a remote preset recall from the iDR8/PL10 after switch on, to ensure the iDR16 levels and settings are where they need to be at the ‘start’

    Hi there
    sorry to hear that
I am presuming you have your laptop connected to the Primary Dante port?
you will have to open an A&H support ticket so the team can assist you

    hello
in Dante device manager set the Dante card fitted to the MixRack to be ‘Preferred Master’ and ‘Sync to external word clock’
The DVS should only ever be a slave and have no sync preferences checked. Make sure DVS is actually switched on (large button on GUI).

    hope that helps

    Hi Dave
    to answer your questions:
    1) – 100m is probably a practical length limit and most PA companies have access to that. cat5,6 50m no problems
    2) – again 50m is no problem, 100m a relistic upper limit.
    3) – The MONO TRS jack output on ME-1 will drive a balanced line. 50m using touring grade balanced mic cable should be fine. NB the mono out does not have the local ambient mic signal content.

    hope that helps

DualRack setup in ilive requires two MixRacks per system to create the 128ch into 32mixes architecture.
Fixed format systems use an M-ACE card in Master MixRack port-B to bridge to Slave MixRack portA which is built in ACE normally used for the surface link.
The only available patch-able port in a fixed-format DualRack system is port-B in the Slave MixRack which handles 64ch, so you cannot share any more than 64ch with a 2nd system digitally.

If you have modular iLive hardware, then you can fit MADI or DANTE cards to port-A and port-B which provide splitting and custom routing capability, so it may be possible to distribute more than 64ch between systems.

With your hardware, you can create one DualRack system using your iDR64+iDR48 with a choice of surface to operate. 112 XLR mic/line inputs into 32 mixes, not a bad system! you would need another two MixRacks to create a 2nd system. With the Slave port-Bs you could share 64ch, any additional splits would be analogue.

    TIP:
make sure the AR2412 has last been connected to a GLD running the latest firmware
in this way the AR2412 will have be auto-updated to the latest code which will enable it to work with the QU range.

    Hi Owen
    you cannot record from ACE.
To record all your mic pre signals from a GLD onto a DAW and play back for v-soundcheck you need an option card:
M-DANTE [you then install Dante Virtual Soundcard on your computer, route everything using Audinate Dante controller software, Dante has added benefit of audio networking to lots of third-parties].
M-Waves [allows you not only to access the wonderful world of Waves plug ins, but has drivers for multitrack DAW recording and playback to your computer].
M-MADI [you need a HW Madi interface such as RME coupled to your computer, Madi is also a universal interconnect standard]
