Sorry but I still think they are missing the mark on a few features with this series.
“oh but you have the ilive to get those features”
Honestly, in my opinion they would be better off combining the two series into one solid lineup.
Imagine this:
GLD24 (rackmount)- 1 AR2412
GLD48 – 2 AR2412
GLD96 – 4 AR2412
GLD144 – 6 AR2412 (or some larger form factor of the stage rack)1. Offline software editor for all models so that operation and files are compatible.
2. Ability to link consoles (share inputs) for FOH/Monitor configurations.
3. Add additional expansion card slots on the larger framesets. This gives you a powerful portable system, medium sized console, and large system configurations that all operate the same. Churches will love it, rental outfits will like the system scalability, streamlines manufacturing, etc.
Anyway, to me that makes more sense and turns the line into something really strong and desirable.
For small systems you have the new Mixwiz4 series and “Digital Mixwiz” aka Qu.
Just my opinion.
Jared2013/03/28 at 11:16 pm #33605My requests would be:
1. Off/online editor
2. DVI out for secondary display
3. Ability to use any combination of stage racks provided they dont exceed the capability of the mixer (i.e 2 x AR2412 or 4 x AR84 etc)
4. Not related to the current GLD per say, but expand the GLD line to include a rack mount version and perhaps a larger frame option (more faders)Just a few that I would like to see on the system.
Overall still a great product but missing the offline editor.2012/07/12 at 12:05 am #30974quote:

Well the difference is that they have one in the works. From the information that has been shared about this from A&H is that they are not even going to make in an option. Correct me if I am wrong in that.ANyway, again all I am saying is that I think they should provide the option for an offline editor if they are not already. And please hurry with it!

Except the fact that pretty much every competitor (Yamaha LS9, Roland m-400, soundcraft si-32, and Behringer X32)in the price range (and below it in the case of the Behringer) has this feature. It is actually a pretty important feature so it is rather frustrating that they haven’t included it.
I understand the perspective you are trying to make from a manufacturing point of view. But from a consumer point of view, it is an issue.
I am sure A&H may have a valid reason for not having including it. It is just frustrating from my perspective that it wasn’t.

Sam A&HThanks,
I guess my question is more this. Since we would be installing the GLD in a fixed install (a church), our show templates wouldn’t really change all that much, I am more interested in making sure we can save our scene mixes. Given the limitation of 500 I was curious if we could offload scenes and store them elsewhere until we needed them again? Creating a database of saved scenes on a usb drive, and each week load the scenes we want.
It sounds like from your post that they are tied to the show templates and therefore we have no way of retrieving individual scene saves?
That make sense?
Jared Koopman2012/06/08 at 4:01 pm #30791What is the difference between MWave and Dante? Are they pretty much the same thing just a different network protocol?
Any advantage of one over the other?
What is the price difference between the two cards?
THanks

MassimoI have one, I was just curious if it would plug in directly via usb.
Thanks
2012/06/07 at 6:08 pm #30778It would also be handy to simply plug in an ipod to the usb port for playback since I already have all my music tracks on that. Is this possible?

2012/05/31 at 12:19 am #30712Are you familiar with Juice Goose?
2012/05/29 at 11:52 pm #30703Personally I would rather have the PC editor first. But iPad control would definitely be a nice thing.

One of the things i find on user consoles is the miss use of busses:
Stereo matrix where mono would work
Stereo groups where mono would work
Use of groups where DCAs would suffice.

Perhaps you know of a website or something that explains it clearly for the novice user or can explain yourself?
Thanks,
