Less conversions is almost always better. Consider you have added latency as well. Just using Dante alone on Shure systems lowers the output latency. Obviously D-Live latency is small but all these things add up in a system.

The download link is not currently working on the site. Just opens another page vs downloading the file.

In addition to this the ability to copy>channel select and then paste select on an unused fader to quickly assign that fader.

I have found this software very useful for many productions. Triggers can also be based off status of other devices for live triggering. Have fun.

Free piece of software call Companion. You can make timed events and send over the network. No need for the Midi driver.

The shure data is all handled on the control side of the dlive network. Not thru Dante. I have never set this up with Dante redundant on ULX-D but I assume you would have to bridge the primary network with the dlive control network. Depending on what you have on that control network should be what makes you decide if this is something you should do. Combining those networks could cause issues.

You will need to set the Dante card to sync to external. To make sure it clocks to the SQ. Otherwise your Dante network will have clocking issues.

Listed as a maintenance release. Doesn’t usually include feature upgrades.

I use the AMM on A&H and the Dugan on Yamaha all the time. They both auto mix. Can’t tell if one is better than the next.

I assume they did this for setup speed. You just say how many you want. It patches it for you. And like most things on the dlive if you don’t like it that way do it the old way and use an aux. at least it gives you the flexibility.

I agree this would be a good feature for the desk. Would a work around be to use ABCD to source select in the scene? It does have recall scope for each input.

Thats a pretty complex setup. I use TB assignments a lot to talk to band vs my shout channel to other engineers. But have not really ever needed to talk to individual musicians.

One think I wish A&H would do is make the pickoff point for the TB bus (and each TB group) post talk button. If this was available as a source for an input you could just have a bunch of inputs to do this. I think the issue for them is that the TB section would need lots of buses to do this and carve a bunch processing out.

If you have budget take a look at Glensound products. They have a range of Dante based com boxes. They have a panel with 16 buttons which could be assigned in this way.

This would be a nice feature! I currently get around this by creating a talkback group. Which does have individual level control to aux sends.

A&H Dealer here. Orders are taking much longer than usual at the moment. And A&H are not the only ones dealing with this. Basically all we ask our manufactures now is when it will ship.

The secondary issue is that all these companies have to keep the firmware updating every time a component is changed out. You can see that in the last few releases notes for Dlive.

Yet another issue is that demand is also up. So with low/no stock, chip shortages and high demand for product it’s a disaster to actually get anything.

    It’s frustrating…
