    Hi Ryan
I’m trying to remember but it could be 16 characters is the longest scene name in the venue.
I think I worked out that having a space anywhere in the scene name restricts the number of letters or numbers to much less than that (around 8-10) which is weird.
It’s almost as if an old DOS 8.3 restriction is kicking in if there is a space in the name.
    I’m running firmware 1.90
Next time I’m up there I’ll see if I can create a long scene name at the venue with spaces in the name and if I can I’ll then see if I can save it onto my machine.

+1 for using a UPS with the digital mixer. Several times it has saved messy power-up delays and speaker thumps during short blackouts.
I have a second UPS for the AR2412 as well which can be carried inside a 4u rack case with the AR2412 (padded, of course, to prevent anything getting damaged)

And, though I haven’t had this issue as yet, this kind of ongoing product support from the company is one of the reasons why I chose to invest in another A&H product for my first digital mixer.
I feel confident that if I run into problems the A&H team will be able to assist me.
    Thanks fellas (and ladies).
    Love your work!

    Hi Australian / NZ users

If you’re wanting to make your own desk magnets I found that the Vistaprint small car magnet is slightly smaller than A4 so you can create a page of label cells in Excel on an A4 page with a bit of space around them and then export to pdf and load the pdf onto their site….best of all is that the cost comes in at around $20 Aus delivered!!
You’ll have to cut them out yourself, but it’s actually quite relaxing to do this part 🙂

I had to play around with scale at first – the photo below is V2 in which the size of each magnet is still a little too small but I have since created a new version which is perfect.

Yep – I also think that the output is lower than on, say, A&H analogue desks when using similar gain staging for inputs and master fader at unity.
The uber-tech at the venue I work at also commented that the level meters displaying master output level rarely reach the orange, even with the inputs cranked and all vocal mic faders at unity (PFL for each channel shows that the input is hitting about right and taps into the orange regularly)
We generally have the master fader at Unity, so there’s still a little room for extra output if we need to push the faders a bit more.

But it’s not an issue for me so far – I’ll just hire a more powerful set of speakers if need be 🙂

Kevin, that actually sounds like a fault with the desk itself if both USB ports drop out simultaneously.
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news 🙁

A&H reps regularly check the forum and can advise you on the best course of action to get it checked out.

    I agree Kevin.
    That would be frustrating!
Could just be that this USB stick is not wanting to play nice with the desk…not holding its format correctly?
Have you tried another brand & capacity stick?

Try formatting the USB stick as FAT32 (or exFAT for Mac – I think) first.
Then plug it into the Qu16 and reformat to Qu.

It will still be able to be read by the computer but don’t use it for normal computer file transfer – leave it as your Qu stick.

I use the Scene memory as my venue memory – mainly for recalling EQ settings for particular rooms/halls I work in.
(If there’s a better way to do this please enlighten me)

So if I make any changes to the scene (usually an EQ tweak) that I want to keep I always update the relevant Scene in the console and on my USB stick.
It’s just a workflow process I have adopted and I sinply have to remember to save any changes I want to have recalled next time I load that venue scene.

    Thanks people.
I didn’t think that there would be any issue.
My guess is that the original fount of this information (not the guy who told it to me) is someone who only uses Midas Pro series desks with the $50k+ price tag and cannot believe that an ‘entry level’ desk is as awesome as the Qu series is 😉
