So I tried this yesterday. Surface connects without problem and without freezing. It does feel like it takes a while to load everything from the console.

yes, same AP is used for Custom Control, static IP is set in the same range and subnet as the dLive.

you can block everything, except fx changes in the scene recall scope. However, it will be an instant change between parameters.

I think it has to do with speed. I’m using a Samsung T7 SSD for recording and playback.
Some people think it’s way too big (1TB) to be using, but I say it’s not the size, it’s how you use it!

Check if the QLXD is in static IP mode or DHCP. If on DHCP, it won’t show up on your dlive.
    this might help: https://pubs.shure.com/guide/QLXD/en-US#c_02557EB7-77C5-D7C4-1961-A21D989D4C64

Also, what a lot of people seem to forget is that wifi is two way communication.
You can have the best AP out there, if the wifi antenna on your ipad/surface/whatever is of poor quality, your experience will be poor too.

On that note, I use Ubiquiti Nanostation Loco M2. Never have any issues with them. Not sure if they are still available though.

Yes, but then you need to recreate them. It’s more of a ‘damn, I have this crazy cool layout, but I made it on the wrong layer’ thing where you could easily swap them round. Not a ‘I want a different layout for each song’ kind of thing. Altough this would be a cool feature to use prior to saving different layouts in different scenes.

I know that with the ‘Block Select’ function, you can easily drop in a load of faders.
However, in the case of an IP8, where you can create advanced layouts that control e.g. send levels, you have to recreate them all manually.

Something that could save time on the IP8, would be that if you for example drop in ch 1-8, and then swap them over from ‘input level’ to ‘aux send level’, it would keep the channel type and number instead of defaulting to channel 1.
