    Hi Mike, actually on the processing screen I selected the function key and then chose USB B Streaming as the source for the channels that I wanted to have input from the computer. ST3 always shows as a blue rectange with an X, rather tan a blue rectange with USB B and I am not able to hear any input from the computer when it is set that way?

    Hi Mike,

    Thanks for this, helps put my mind at rest. Are you using multiple units in unison with a DAW?

    Thanks,
    Anthony.

    Thanks Alec, and Rafael, appreciate the clarity,

    @mfk0815 – that’s a great point, and I do have a limited budget. Can you make any of the channels “Safe” by saving a system setting to prevent any channels you select from having phantom power?

    Hi folks, I tried this technique and it works well. THanks for your input.

    Is it correct that the DCA doesn’t affect the signal on the input strip, but only to the L/R bus?

    Also is the name of the DCA groups common to all scenes or is it scene specific?

    Hello Rafael,

    Thanks for this – just one final thought, can I link a QU16 and a SQ7 together with Slink or dSnake to to link the two desks together, with one having control over the other?

    Thanks.

    Hello @Rafael A&H,

    Thanks for this, looks like the AB168 would do the trick and give just a little room in case I had further inputs. Noting this “The SQ features 48 input processing channels. Adding connections via SLink provides access to more inputs and outputs, but does not increase the number of processing channels available.” Does this mean it won’t add extra channels in Cubase? Would I have to route the physical output of the AB168 into a couple of channels on my desk SQ or QU?

    Thanks.

    Hi Mike, yes that is what I am doing, I am using the ST1/ST2 as stereo returns from FX and losing a stereo pair for the output of my line mixers. Not happy with that set up though.

    Thanks Mike and Steffen, I’m going to try this at the weekend when I get back into a little music.

    Hi SteffenR,

    I will check that out, but does this reduce volume proportionately, absolutely? I also need to control all input channels 1-16 at least.
    Thanks,
    Anthony.

    Can you clarify, the hardware does have 2 additional outputs that are not mapped in the software outputs available in Cubase, yet the QU-16 specs state:

    • 2 channel AES digital output patchable from any mix
    • Stereo Alt Out TRS jack output patchable from any mix

    You can patch any mix _TO_ those outputs, although I know that doesn’t include the 2TRK output. So why is this a hardware limitation, and not a software limitation?

    Thanks,
    Anthony.

    Hi Gary, what about on the 3 led meter strips when Fader Flip is activated, is that just a mirror of the dominant frequency or real peaks?

    @KeithJ A&H,

    Thanks so much for a super quick response! I wasn’t expecting to hear back till next week! I’ll take my time to work through what you’ve written here and report back, sounds promising!

    @volounteer,

    Thanks for your help and suggestions – I’ve contacted support now as per my message to Steffen above.

    I’m quite adamant about the way I work to the point of obstinacy so its just a matter of how much time it takes to get to what I want or a near compromise.

    Hi Steffen,

    Yep, been through the steps several times, and noting each time. Seems like it should work but I’ve contacted A&H tech support and will also contact Steinberg just in case I am missing something with that element of the set up.

    Many thanks for your help and suggestions.
