    Hi knga,

there are more options: you could also use the older AB/AR Stageboxes, which are “only” 48KHz but sound very good. If money is no problem, then, heck yeah, go for the prime I/Os. But: I have no experience on them.

I do have heard the DX and AB/AR boxes side by side. There is a small difference. But I find that a much bigger sound improvement is achieved when the source is sounding great and you have great mics for your inputs.

    Cheers,
    André

Why not simply write OH L and OH R? 🙂

    Hi RobH,

I made a short video a little while ago on how to buy SQ plug ins. Sounds silly, I know, but since I did encounter the same problem (code incorrect) I thougt it might help a few people.

    How to buy SQ PlugIns

Maybe there is a hint what went wrong. But I´m afraid, you have to write an email to: support@allen-heath.com. Alex (the support guy) is very quick in answering and sorting out problems like yours.

    Cheers,
    André

edit: if you press Link all values of the four bands will be set to the same amount: IF YOU CHANGE THAT PARAMETER.

    Hi guys,

if you press Link all values of the four bands will be set to the same amount. If you change one of them, the same amount of value change is applied to all 4 bands.
REL(ative) does also “link” all 4 bands together, but the values stay where they were set to individually. If the Gain on the the LF is -2dB, on the the LM is -4dB, on HM is 0 and on HF +2 and you apply a gain change of – 3dB to any of the bands gains, you will lower all gains by 3dB. The result will be: LF -5dB,LM -7dB, HM -3dB and HF -1dB.

    Hope that helps a bit.
    Cheers

As a special I like ADT or Chorus/Flanger on horns. Once the pitch shifter is available for SQ, I would put that one on the list, too.

Well, A&H are usually listening to their customers, so I wouldn´t rule it out…The more people request a feature, the higher it will be on the to do list, provided it is technically possible. Dlive, Avantis and SQ all feature a fpga xcvi core, but not the same I think. Also, there is no dyn8 engine in the SQ, so it is very unlikely to see a dyn8 add – on…

Maybe you have the echo FX loaded? There is a switch called noise on/off…

    Hi Andy

I´m not on my board right now, but from the memory you can switch scenes and mutegroups.
    1) Make two scenes and change those with the footswitch.
    2) Load to different reverbs, put them in a mutegroup and mute/unmute with the footswitch.

    André

    Hi volounter,

soundengineers want to get rid of UNWANTED distortion. Not all signal distortion is bad. But maybe distortion is a bad word for a desireable effect: the addition of harmonics. Those help a signal to sit better in a mix and be heard better by adding a nice compression effect and overtones. Those make it easier for the human ear to “detect a signal”.
And as always: the dose makes the poison (I hope the german phrase translates well into english).

    Cheers,
    André

    You have independently:
    8 DCA Groups
    1 Main Bus
3 Matrix Busses (that can be Mono or Stereo)
12 Mixbusses, that can be Auxes or Groups. It´s up to you, how you divide it.

    Well…yes of course.

There is a graphic and a parametric EQ on all Mixbusses: Auxes, Groups, LR Main and Matrices.

If you want a different EQ on your sources for monitors than for the LR bus, you can copy the sources to other inputchannels, eq them differently and use that as your signals for your monitor.

    Hope that helps.

    Hi Junior,

search the forum and you will find a lot of suggestion for USB Drives that will work flawless. I myself use a SEAGATE BackUp Plus Portable Drive (2TB) with no error so far.

    Hi Richard,
    you can do both.

Record the individual channels via the Ip Direct Outputs or tielines.
    Via tielines:
Go to the I/O screen->Tielines->Local (or SLink if you have a stagebox connected). In the top row go USB and patch all the channels you want to record
    Via Direct Outputs
Go to the I/O screen->Outputs->IP Direct Outputs. In the top row go USB and patch all the channels you want to record

    For you MainLR outs:
Go to the I/O screen->Outputs->MixOut. Here you´ll find all Mixes (Groups, Auxes), Matrices and your MainLR. In the top row go USB and patch your MainLR to two USB outputs, you haven´t used up.

Remember: 32 is the limit for USB recording. If you want to record your MainLR, you can “only” record 30 individual channels.

    Hope that helps.
    Cheers,
    André
