Try this: Assign the Martix to a DCA and then assign that DCA to a rotary…

    Hi Rob,

    thanks for your answer.

    My thinking was the following:

if you want NORMAL compression (meaning not parallel) you would not touch the “parallel path” button at all, right? So there is your “normal” compression. The Wet/Dry Mix is only active, IF you choose to use parallel compression (NOT NORMAL). In that case, I think, the default should be as in my post described.

As I said, I´m not a native english speaker and there is no BEDIENUNGSANLEITUNG (manual) in german.
    I interpret:
This allows you to blend (in-line) the compressed signal WITH the uncompressed signal” (<- from the manual) as:
This allows you to blend (in-line) the compressed signal TO the uncompressed signal.

Please let me know, if got that wrong. And no need to apologize for you to disagree.

    Cheers,
    André

    Hi Keith,

is that also the reason why the order of comps, eqs, gates, etc can´t be changed, like in for example the x32?

Btw. your “new bricks in the wall” explanation is a nice metaphor and makes your point very easy understandable. From my point of view implementing a clock seemed easy to do until you explained that it is not. Keep those clarifings coming!

    Cheers,
    André

    Hi Barryjam,

another good example would be multiband compresson on distorted guitars when changing from one technique to another. Playing open strings you can have a full fat sound. When guitarist (like myself) play palm muted (resting the palm of the picking hand close to brigde to kind of semi mute the strings) the low end gets way to prominent, if you don´t change the eq or put the HPF quite high. You also could at the same time tame or exaggerate the picking noise, depending on the desired effect.
Or imagine a bass guitar changing from fingerpicking to plectrum to slapping. Much easier to control all of different sounding techniques than having just one static eq setting.

    Hi Greg,

    thanks for your input.
Yeah, Logic is indeed doing downsampling. Some guys on the facebook SQ group site suggested using an external SSD and reaper or Waves Tracks to record and I´m gonna try that next time I´m on the board. Recording to Logic is just me being lazy and I am used to it, too.

I´m not sure how to do a correct sample rate conversion. I´ve read that this process is a tricky thing…

Having the tracks in Logic with no downsampling mixready at 48kHz, so that the CPU on my MacBookPro 2010 (…) doesn´t eject the motherboard was my goal…

    Hi Keith,

thank you for your reply. Now that you explained a little deeper the nature of the core, i can see that the cost-effectiveness ratio is not well balanced if you send people out coding in a clock, when there are so many more live-mix-essential features have to be programmed and bugs have to fixed
And wow: “…it would actually be impossible to implement!” I would have never guessed that. Looking forward to the next update!

By implementing a digital clock! My Midas knows the time, my X32 knows it, my kemper Amp and even my phone…why shouldn´t the SQ be able? One might think, that the XCVI Core is powerful enough, right? 🙂
It´s not a high priority feature suggestion, but it might be easy to implement and comes in handy all the time:
“ok guys, you´ve got 15 minutes left for your soundcheck before the doors open.”
” And the show starts in 3,2,1…”
“I need 3 minutes preparation. Then please play my opening music”
“We all count down 10,9,8,7,…Happy New Year”
“please make your set no longer than 20 minutes…”

In my OP I put a link to the SQ video playlist instead of to the relvant video. Here it is:

Alex from the Allen&Heath Support wrote to me:
“After speaking with our software team, they have confirmed that this is a known issue and a fix will be included in the next firmware release.” He didn´t mention a release date…;)

Or implement google translate in the forum:

“It would be good if they would take out the translated manual completely in Spanish as well as videos since this table is being seen a lot in Latin America,”

    🙂
