We have an R72 running an IDR32 and are having problems with audio routing to the busses.

We have reset the system and reinstalled the firmware…no luck.

Some shows will not rout audio to the busses. Other shows will. Very strange.

When I say will not route to busses, I am meaning that you can send audio to the buss, but the buss does not show any input metering and hence no output from the buss also.

    Any ideas???

    Hi All,

I have been a lover of the ilive system architecture for a long time now, and my iDR32 that I have used sparingly since 2012 finally had an issue today, and it was a complete show stopper.
For the last few days the unit has run flawlessly with a few ipads and an R72
However, today I got the error : “The Mix Rack 192.168.0.101 failed to boot correctly”
In the error log, I found this : “DSP Programming failed(iDRLiveDSPs:cpp:487)”

Has anyone seen the DSP Programming failed error, and what causes it, is it a full mainboard replacement?

I found this forum post that seems to point out the issue.

    Mix Rack Boot Failure

I have reached out to TAG (our A&H distributor) to see if this can be fixed.

Any advice overnight would be great!

I have been using the Cisco/linksys 6500 series, and i have three of them for each of my ilive rigs.
Personally i have problems with ipad in busy rooms, so i don’t use that anymore. Gave it to my wife to watch movies at home while I am working a show.
I am sort of a laptop geek/freak anyhow so i use 2 Thinkpads (one hard wired to the IDR at Monitor world) and one with a “better” wifi radio at FOH for my mix. for more “surface area” I use an attached USB monitor which gives me a second screen. I don’t use the R72 console anymore, (want to buyit?) mostly because i get lazy i suppose.

I was quite concerned/mystified about the performance degrading throuhout the show. One theory is that as the crowd fills up, people will be hitting you WAP trying to upload crap to facebook and Youtube. So at a minimum password protect your WAP and more importantly “hide” the AP in your WAP settings.

The other thing is that when i am using the dante card for recording, it seems to really keep the IDR engine busy. performance to the console/wap suffered. If i was pulling all of this traffic through a smart switch i suppose it would be worth setting Qos, but i just “home run the MACBOOK to the dante interface for recording and my Thinkpad T420s (with SSD) to the network port for IDr control. I run about 150 shows per year and this setup has been great.

FWIIW, i have played with about ever other digital console editor software. IMHO the Ilive editor is the best. I have not found any other gear that gives me the quality of sound, and capability of the Ilive series. ONe my bucket list is to make enough money to by a Dlive, but again, i may only want the stage racks. The con
sole wheras it is pretty, won’t fit in my laptop case. 🙂

    Not having any luck …
I’m using an iLive R72 with IDR-32 and xDR-16 (surface connected via Ace to IDR-32, network bridge jumper cable is in place to port B of Ace option card. Out of the port B option card back to the xDR-16 Ace connection. Dante card is in the xDR-16 port B and it’s connected with the Primary port going to the 970 Sound Device recorder and control network port to laptop.)
The Audinate Controller software see’s both the 970 and the iLive. I can select with track to send to and from and i see that change in the recorder screen (so there is communication going on) but there is no audio. What am i doing wrong in the settings?
My goal would be to have all the channels i’m using, plus Main L-R and effects routed to the 970.
    Any suggestions?

OK, those shows are not on the mixrack nor on a fairly new R72 surface.

I found them on a USB stick so I must have copied them from an iLive system at some point.

The FOH-LCRplus template replaces the Sub control with a Blend control so you lose the “aux fed” Sub bus.
I guess you could use a mono aux like in the old days if you want both.
I can confirm that the normal LCR mode will send signal to only the Centre bus if you have pan central, thus you can only send each mono channel to a maximum of 2 main buses at a time (L&C or R&C). If you need to feed all 3 from a single input you need LCRplus.

PM me and I can send you the template shows if you want them to play with.
Scratch that, you can get LCRplus from Setup – Mixer Config in the menu, mix config tab, MAIN drop down option.
No need for the template shows.

We use iLive R72 and T112 surfaces but often will do a gig with just a MixRack, Router & Laptop/iPad.
What would be really useful is a headphone system which allows the iPad user to move around freely, pfl/solo a particular channel or a mix AND which also has a mic for talkback so we can communicate with the band/performers during a sound check without having to walk back to the stage.

There’s already lots of product in the market for ‘Comms’ e.g. Clearcomm, Canford etc.
Has anyone already used these to provide the setup as described above?
What does it consist of, any problems? And can you describe the format used please?

    Any advice/comments appreciated.

    Hey to all,

I have a problem concerning the Midicontrol of the iLive R72.
I have a band where we have Logic Sessions which control different kinds of midi instruments (e.g.TCHelicon) on a click track andsend CC commands to these instruments. We also want use the intern Octaver of the iLive R72 and want to control with the Logicsession -> Mute/Unmute FX8 or DCA 3 with a Midi command. We use a Soundcard to send the Midicommand to the iLive, but as iLive is using NoteOn commands I don’t know what I have to write to Logic so the R72 mutes or unmutes the channel.

I have the Midisheet of the R72 which says:
    Mute on
Note On with velocity > 40 followed by Note off
    9N, CH, 7F 9N, CH, 00

    Mute off
Note on with veloctiy < 40 followed by Note off
    9n, CH, 3F 9N, CH, 00

So my question is, what do I have to do specifically in Logic and on the R72 so it works ?

    Thank you in advance

Had the same problem on my T112. It was an empty backup battery CR2032 on the main pcb.
I desoldered and soldered 2 leads with a battery holder.
Now i can remove the side plate and pop in a new one when i get the white screen. You have to change some screen resolution 600*800 settings in Bios after replacing battery. Attach keyboard and mouse and go into bios settings at startup.
The battery drains down quickly because the T112 sits in the shop more than it goes out.( i have a pro2C now).Had to change 2 times already.
Same here ,more problems with the T112 ( screen, battery, had to replace all caps on the switches) then the R72.
R72/idr48 is my little work horse.
Think the new generation Q en GLD are better mechanical /component wise.
ilive is still very configurable setup and the effects are top notch. Whish i had the same effects on my pro2C

Thanks for the heads up Darren. This is a minor problem in comparison to the problems we have with these things now. Funny that only our 112s have continual issues but we have never had a problem with the R72s. I am at the end of my tether with this stuff now.

Hi all, we are experiencing problems with both our T112 surfaces and wondering if anyone else has the same. When using the GEQ fader flip button the faders on the middle bank will go to random positions and will keep changing everytime you hit the button. The only way we can run these consoles now is to use the touchscreen only which is a pain when you have walk in engineers. We have had a lot of different issues with the T112s and have changed numerous PCBs,we also run R72s and have never had an issue with these. We have also noticed the faders slowing down over the last year or so, so we did a reset on all systems including the iDRs with the dip switched but this didn’t seem to change anything. Today I decided to reload back dated firmware to 1.72 and have noticed a huge difference in the speed of the faders when scrolling pages. Would it be a case of the console running out of processing power with all of the firmware updates over time? Unfortunately it has not changed my initial problem with the fader flip

We have the same problem occasionally with both of our T112 surfaces but never with the R72 surfaces. We operate in Australia and it happens in the middle of our summer as much as winter, day or night so I don’t think temperature has anything to do with it. We simply turn it off and on until it comes good. Not a great option but it gets us out of trouble
