As far as I know the DM7 doesn’t support any wireless integration yet, but I could be wrong?
Even on the CL/QL I believe they only support the 6000 series from Sennheiser so arguably less than dlive. If anyone here has better information please share.

My understanding is that the 5045 is similar to the Waves PSE and also to the source expanders which are already in dPack. None of these are traditional feedback suppressors but combined with AMM they certainly help.

I like the idea. But check out the multiple select too if you need to change a parameter across different widgets (even of different type). When selecting multiple widgets, any ‘common’ field is editable in the attributes to the right of the screen. So in your example, select all widgets and change channel number.

You should consider a Waves card instead, but not many around at the moment. Their driver for recording is free and can do 128ch at 96kHz – if your computer and drive can cope with that!

On dLive and Avantis you can also use the AES I/O cards. No need of a DX32. They come in different combinations of I/O:

    AES3 Cards

There is also a DX012 which gives you 16 AES3 outputs (8 stereo).

Why is it not standard on dLive racks? I guess not everyone uses AES/EBU so why charge the extra cost. Many are switching to Dante and AVB to connect to the PA.

I heard they changed the material in recent years to prevent just that.
Get in touch with your dealer, they can swap out the casing for you.

I don’t know enough about OSC. What can you achieve with it that you cannot do with the A&H MIDI driver?
I believe you can already automate scene changes, fader moves and mutes on SQ. Are we talking more advanced automation?

The assumption that a Yamaha would be more reliable is very, very questionable.
I don’t think this is a common problem with CDM racks, never heard of it.

You could create a ‘no-48V’ scene and use the scene filter to recall preamps only. Just make sure you store a scene with the correct 48V and gain/pad first, so you can recall it after the band changeover.

Completely disagree. I find the dLive EQ as effective as any other desk I used. Whether the screen representation is accurate doesn’t really matter to me. Use your hears.

Although, some vintage / character EQs would be a welcome addition.

@Alu sounds like you are very dissatisfied with everything dLive from your forum posts. I find this odd given the number of venues and engineers selecting it over the rest. Did you get someone from A&H to check your system? There might be something wrong with the desk or the rest of the PA?

I see others on Facebook have already suggested you are sample rate converting to 96k in the dLive and down to 48k again to Dante.
Recording 96k over Dante from dLive, and playing back tracks for virtual soundcheck, I have never experienced a drop in audio quality or HF content.

It’s a standard Fast Ethernet 100BASE-TX connection, only 2 pairs are used.

What exactly are the ‘old problems’ they need fixing on dLive? Looks to me like dLive got its fair share of bug fixes and maintenance releases.
This discussion between users complaining about late new firmware happens regularly on this forum. As I said before, you buy a mixer for what it does, not for what you hope it will do in future. Those of us who have used a Qu, SQ or dLive early on know A&H are pretty good at growing their features with every release. Yes I have my wishlist, and would have loved a 1.9 to play with over lockdown, but I also understand they have other products to develop hardware and software for, and that doesn’t make me post arrogant comments or blame their management.

    @spazz

1.) Does the manual discuss the folder structure?

From the dLive reference guide: USB Shows – Lists User Shows stored in the USB drive. The files are stored in the USB AllenHeath-dLive/Shows folder

Or if you are using the default Admin user, just type in ‘Admin’ and no password when connecting with Custom Control!

Or simply put the RF mics where they should be (on stage, close to the antennas)? Most can be controlled remotely nowadays.
And good point about the DXLink card! It actually allows more DX boxes than a single Slink port!
