If I was part of the R&D department for AH, then maybe the article would have stated those things. But I’m only a consumer like you. The point is, it’s possible to make it work with the current version of MixPad. Hopefully in the next major release of firmware, they will include parameters for separate via MixPad.

Just keep a tight reign on your guys. If the problem persists with one particular musician, threaten “NO MORE iPAD” . This is working for me on a weekly basis. I’ve got 7 people on the MixPad app at one time. We have had our “OPPS” but not during a show, only at rehearsal. Just make sure that there custom layer is setup, and that they double tap their mix. If the channels aren’t highlighted blue, dont touch! I would agree that an app that’s focused on AUX mixing would be nice, but lets be real. All the R&D time on this app, plus the overhead, plus the still limited number of iLive users on the planet, it’s not worth AH time or money to create such an app. I think if they try to corner the Personal Mix Market, maybe. But that would probably associated with the iPad allowing not only for control, but for audio to pass through the headphone jack on the ipad. Thus allowing the ipad to be the “self-contained” personal mixer. []

What iLive console do you have? If it is pre-2009 (NOT T-SERIES), they’ve upgraded the touchscreen module. It does cost a pretty penny, but the install is not so difficult. It’s worth giving AH tech support a call.

Same problem here. Tweak crashes quite often. I use MixPad on the same wifi network and it rarely crashes.

Apparently the cards should be arriving in North America next week. At least the ones that were on back-order. I should be receiving my Dante card by Wednesday the 25th, and I’m located in Florida.

You can also set up custom layers to avoid other issues. Youll be able to read about this more in depth on Allen & Heaths news section of the website. There will be an article posted in the next two weeks that I wrote. Hope this helps.

Try turning off the “multi-cast” setting on your iPad settings app. If you do not have a router that supports multi-cast, or a router that has no more than a few DHCP licenses on it, you dont need the multi-cast. This may solve your crashing issue.

Finally, the app is out. I have purchased it, and been playing with it all afternoon. Kind of disappointed on a couple of things. (Hopefully these things will change with updates.) Really disappointed with no scene recall/save. Hopefully this is not an attempt to prevent people from not buying a surface. People will still use a laptop/ipad combo. Soft-keys would be great for tap delay. PFL, and talk-back would be nice for full wireless mixing capabilities. Please A&H, we hope to see these features added. Hopefully in due time. Other than that, the app looks and feels fantastic. Still think its worth the $100. Thanks A&H.

Ok A&H. We are now 3 days into February. Where is the iPad app! Heard it was supposed to be out by the end of January. Starting to think that it’s never getting released.
