    @Bertz
    > … are some problem rising up like some of the aux mix bus button does nit not functioning (can not be press).
I also think that it is definitely not related to your analog multicore.
But this could be easily tested by disconnecting all connections to and from the desk.
    Please try it.
I can’t imagine that the error will disappear.

    @Hugh
    > The SQ line has three different versions that differ only in the number of faders and internal I/Os:
That’s not true: SQ-6 and 7 have more Soft Keys and additional labeled controls in the form of Soft Rotaries.
If you don’t have any use for it, of course it’s ok for you.
But others are happy about the additional options and prefer this more convenient operation.

But the main difference are really the additional faders, which represent a big advantage depending on the projekt and especially live.

And: We don’t know the local conditions.
I can imagine that the analog multicore has been used for a long time.
In old and possibly listed buildings it can sometimes be very difficult or even impossible to lay new cables.

Unfortunately I cannot reproduce your problem.
    What else can it be?
I assume that you have formatted the stick in the SQ and your firmware is up to date.?
If you have set recording standby using the record button, will flash the record button and also a recording pause symbol at the top right of the display?
At the same time, the corresponding track name is displayed on the left and the play/pause button is outlined in green?

Whatever you do, please note also the following:
Please make a backup of important show files from your stick!
There is a known bug that in rare cases corrupts your show files when recording multitrack.
That’s what happened to me too.

Maybe I haven’t really understood your workflow yet.
But if you using groups in this way for songs, wouldn’t it then also be possible to simply use an additional group for the “named roles” parts?

The reason for your problem is that the filter “Fader” also blocks your assignments to LR (see also pic).

Thank you very much, Keith – I really appreciate you responding.
Please let me answer something else:

    > The current GUI for the DynEQ is mostly common across multiple consoles …
Even on the modern Avantis, handling the DynEQ is no real joy.
For example, why is there this switching between frequency and gain?
Should we be happy that this isn’t so on your PEQs too? 😉
Somehow it feels like the designer never had to work with it live.
But by far the worst thing is probably the handling on the SQ’s GUI, which is significantly different.
If a similar version can be found on other A&H consoles besides the already dead GLD, a more useful GUI would be a blessing there too.

    > There are those who are used to the way it works currently, so changing how it works may actually be annoying for them.
According to this argument, changes could never be made to a firmware because there are always those who have already gotten used to things are bad.
But if you unsure, you could also present such projects here in advance and see how “they” would rate them.

    > We haven’t had lots of complaints about how it is currently (and it’s one of the most popular add-ons)
This experience is also unfortunate reflected in this thread.
I really didn’t expect that everyone except me would be happy with the current handling.

    > Spending R&D time on one thing …
I would like to provide you my suggestion.

    > … means we’re not working on something else, potentially something you want far more!
The firmware 1.5 celebrated its 4th anniversary these days.
The forum is full of sensible ideas and wishes, some of which are also few years old.
There’s unfortunately really little hope left when it comes to “want more”.

But no offense and thank you!

In my experience there are no problems with this.
If necessary, you could even load your SQ-6 show into the MixPad and prepare it offline as your SQ-7 show (except Soft Rotaries).
But of course it is also possible later on the SQ-7 itself.

I’m really sorry if I was misunderstood.
I didn’t want to address anyone personally.
English is not my native language and so I sometimes use Google Translator.
    Unfortunately, it misinterpreted my text.
In any case, it should say “It’s a pity” and not “It’s a shame”!
    Excuse me!

    After 3 weeks:
It’s a shame that nobody seems to be interested in it (unfortunately also not A&H).
Although changing a GUI should be relatively easy to implement – without the support of other users, a suggestion like this has no chance and I don’t even need to introduce it.
Maybe only a few people have bought the dynamic Add-ons or people don’t use it – possibly precisely because they are only complicated and not intuitive to use.
It’s really a shame about that.

Of course, it would be nice to be able to set the two add-ons comfortable without 3rd party software and directly on the console, but apparently everyone is satisfied or happy with the confusing GUI.

It was still worth a try – thanks for reading.

Use the “Routing” attribute to “gang” all your sends – including those to the FX.
If you don’t want to handle the two channels separately, e.g. different EQ settings, using a stereo input would probably be easier.

The best and clearest way is usually to use a separate second mix for the stream.
There you can decide independently of the Main mix:
    – what sources they actually use
    – what levels are required
    – which levels follow the main mix and which don’t (post/pre)
    – which pans sound best
    – which FX should be dosed and how
    – how the stream should be compressed
    etc.

Under “Help” of the Mixpad I read:
“If a PC (Windows or Mac) is being used, you must set a working directory at the bottom of the Utility > Shows screen.”
    and:
“If the correct folder structure does not already exist in the chosen Working Directory, MixPad will create SHOWS, SCENES and LIBRARY folders.”
So it seems the same procedure.

Your problem may be also with your PC.
You should try another, possibly “cleaner” PC.

On Windows, for example, you can find the shows in the directory as indicated in the MixPad under Utility at the bottom.
There you have to add your DAT-files to the structure as in the picture, e.g. in a directory SHOWS > SHOW0001 > …

    > When that DCA is muted, all the post-fade sends will be too.
But in my experience also all pre-fade sends.
I think, the muting of a DCA is the same as using a mute group.
In both cases you mute all channels of the group – also including their pre-fade paths.
