Thanks for your attention, I hope others are able to comprehend this material better than I. I’m looking forward to receiving the script copy!

T112/48 R72/32 laptop iPad Dir-8152011/10/31 at 11:33 pm #30013I’ve thought that an IDR24 would be a great addition to the line. When I bought my R72 I felt that 16 channels weren’t enough, and 32 more than I needed for that surface…

I’m sure areas of interest for videos would run the gamut, I personally would like more advanced videos on areas such as show/scene management as “set up” and as “live” usage, live recording techniques, efficient monitor bus usage.
It would be nice to have a complete “self training” program to allow a user to start with absolute basics and continue through to advanced subject matter, though this is not your responsibility! Even advanced users can benefit from a refresher that can often fill in holes in knowledge.
Thanks for considering this project!

T112/48 R72/32 laptop iPad Dir-8152011/10/25 at 3:20 pm #29918Yes, I know the link – it basically leads to no information. I did find that by going to the link and using the search function on “training”, the iLive schedule is listed, but there are no classes listed after Oct 17-18. I will try to get in touch with Justin E., I’m just hoping A & H will be more proactive with training, either in the field or online.

T112/48 R72/32 laptop iPad Dir-8152011/10/25 at 1:23 am #29909How much do you need the “sub” output vs another aux/matrix out?
1. Lose the “sub” output, use the extra out as a matrix fed by LR, send this to your 2nd iem mix, toggle (mute) your vocal iem mix “off” and the matrix mix “on” when you don’t sing.
-or-
2. Keep the “sub” output, get a small mixer, 2 “Y” splitters, physically split the LR outputs, sending the splits to the mixer, feed this (mono) output to your iem transmitter, toggle as above.Tim Tyler

T112/48 R72/32 Dir-8152011/10/24 at 5:20 pm #29874Still interested in iLive classes… (or training videos) – would like to hear some definitive info from the mothership about whether or not this is in the plans, esp. for the USA, (east coast would be dandy).
The success that Yamaha has had with their classes should be a good indicator of the value of these…
Respectfully,

Thank you much… I looked at the editor version that was reading (1.82), and the location for the drive was “E:”, and I was putting in “E:allenheath” or “E:allenheathshows”, which was my problem.
Somehow I missed this info in the manual & help file.
Thanks again,

SELECT the channel strip you want to use, then on the TOUCHSCREEN, touch PREAMP and that box will have a “source select” box on the top left. Touch that box and select “surface” on the drop-down and then name the input(s) you wish to use. Hopefully this is what you are inquiring about… (p. 33 on manual)

2011/04/09 at 8:13 pm #27930I use DCAs for this type of control. Muting the DCA will mute its associated inputs, the DCA fader controls the overall signal of the inputs. I don’t use groups.
Think of the matrix(es) as a way to send “mix” signals (auxes, groups, L-R-Mono, etc.) to additional output ports. The matrix allows you to distribute your mix or parts of your mix to additional areas, for recording, nearfills, listening rooms, etc.

I’ve set up 4 mute groups this way – they must be saved in the scene, I found out, but looks like I’m going to use this.
Thanks for the info on midi… does this mean there are ways to get to mixrack functions that are not set up in the original show? -more FX units, matrices, etc.? I am a “mid-iot”, but know some locals with some midi chops, extra controllers, etc.
Thanks,
