Hello,
I have finally successfully communicated between my PC and the QU-PAC
The communication is pretty simple reading / writing nrpn bytes directly from the TCP/IP streamI have found few typos copy/paste errors in the qu midi documentation
I am parsing actually every messages and I don’t find in the pdf the signification of the NRPN with ID = 0x56
Do you have a most recent documentation ?
Do you know what is it?
I want to create a windows APP to control the QU-PAC
My first goal is to have all the QU tracks in ONE big screen, and not be limited to 8 tracks in the QUPAD app.
Also, showing the name of every aux in the aux selection buttons
Then will add more custom features like a button to momentary change my mic into a talkback mic in iems
And some PAFL combinations buttonsMaybe I will share my QU-MIX windows app here if someone interested
Regards,
Dan
2017/03/22 at 10:11 am #62275Or use the new MixTools PC program that can record 32 tracks 🙂
2017/03/18 at 10:25 pm #62223Yes… I only know Windows programming…
By the way, today, I buy some very decent windows 10 tablet from china for only 100/150 eur
What monitoring do you need?
The QU already do direct monitoring2017/02/08 at 4:45 pm #61190I am not offended. I don’t blame anyone. Just give an idea to disable the MIX2 send from the FX2 return track, if they are linked together internally.
We don’t have to blame the car when someone is driving into the wall. But we are happy to buy a car with the seat belts included
No need of disabling a send, but detecting when you move a fader. just before the fader changes the value of the fx send, it does a simple test. Are we inside a fx return track? if yes. another test. what input is feeding this fx ? if answer is mix2 , Are we actually raising this input ? => Cancel this move
For sure I will try to understand the fx send / return tracks in the FX tab for each aux.
This is the only part of the QUPAD that I still don’t understand 100%, and was fatalFor sure. I am now traumatized and will never move those fader again during a show :p

2017/02/07 at 9:02 pm #61153Yes for sure.
In my Yamaha analog mixer, there is no AUX SEND knob on the reverb return track (send to the reverb unit)Why adding a knob that will for sure create a feedback loop?
2017/02/07 at 3:25 pm #61143I also want some reverb on the AUX because of the singer like to have the reverb on the monitors too
Also, I like to send the delay into the reverb to get a more natural delay
I am not that idiot and have some experience in digital and analog mixers, but I must say, I still don’t understand 100% of this FX send / return screen
And while moving faders I ve got the feedback loop, and my first instinctive reaction was to move away and turn myself to save my ears
Unfortunately the iPad then said DISCONNECTED probably because the distance (not so far) ;….
So even muting the LR did not react
I don’t think it is hard to add in the QU app or the firmware :
Just disable a FX SEND FADER that return to ITSELF
2016/10/27 at 5:59 pm #58919For sure, we will not precisely tune studio monitors with that, but I want something to be able to correct a bit the speakers like I am doing actually with the RTA and pink noise generator, with good results, but more automated, as now it takes a lot of time and makes noise
🙂Maybe will try to do a windows program for that if A&H can’t do it
2016/10/27 at 5:51 pm #58918Thank You.
I see : A TCP driver is not available for Windows computers.
Do you have any (internal) documentation that you can share with me, so I can directly talk to the mixer trough TCP ?
I also see that only one TCP application can run at a time. Is it one TCP + iPad ?
2016/09/09 at 4:04 pm #58076Yes, I would like to see an option for half width sliders to get 16 per page in the iPad QU app.
2016/09/05 at 11:41 am #57993yes I have a nice audient 8 preamp with ADAT out. why not using it to expand my QU-PAC
Or maybe a cheap rack with ADAT IN + few analog outs
2016/09/04 at 2:26 am #57980Would love a ADAT to DSNAKE cheap converter, as I have a very good 8 preamp with ADAT out rack
2016/07/18 at 11:08 pm #57214I would use a group out for feed the aes out
groups have their own main volumes, so it is not a problem2016/07/18 at 1:04 pm #57200I would love to be able to use such cheap dac for the AES out
2016/07/18 at 1:01 pm #57199Do you think this converted will be able to receive AES XLR to RCA ?
https://www.thomann.de/fr/swissonic_converter_da_24_96.htm
I have read that some sound card like RME etc… allows a simple cable converted to be used like this
https://www.thomann.de/be/neutrik_na2fpmf_xlr_femalecinch.htm
2016/07/18 at 12:52 pm #57197I am also playing piano + doing the mixing with the QU-PAC
I am using the qu phones out.
PAFL is in additive mode, and select pafl of the L&R + pafl the talkback mic plugged on the 16th track.
It is a bit complex to switch to listen to another mix
The true talkback mic is a problem, because I can’t decide the level for each aux. it’s a ON / OFF only !
Can you add a volume for each aux for the talkback mic? and maybe a noise gate on it? 🙂 and possibility to let it always ON
I would like to to convert the OUT 1 & 2 / 3 & 4 as 2 stereo mixes.
It is maybe more easy to do than converting the stereo mix to dual mono
unbreak you also have the AES out on the QU-PAC that you can use. I am searching a cheap AES to phones. But I only find cheap RCA SPDIF DAC
Is it possible to plug the AES out into a RCA SPDIF DAC??
If not, you can add this
https://www.thomann.de/fr/behringer_ultramatch_pro_src_2496.htmThis will allow you to use the AES out and add a stereo phones output
