@ianbuss I definitely want more colors, but the color of the text cannot be changed due to the design of the SQ.

I agree. It would be nice to be able to see all of the channel information at the same time. I doubt the software engineers want to tackle that. But surely it would be easier to implement than the awesome EQ RTA!

    +1 ABSOLUTELY!!!

The soft rotaries do it, can’t be that hard to implement it to the faders, right?

I don’t think putting them all on one is a good idea. If you ARM and then change your mind, your have to RECORD before you can stop. The ARM and RECORD on the same button might be ok.

I do the same thing, except externally. I have a stereo AUX set up for recording. I send the channel to be recorded to the AUX (all the way up, or +10), then in the RECORD Aux I have the compressor set at 4:1, and boost the output level of the compressor +18db. I then take that processed signal and boost it another 10db out to my recorders. Yeah it’s complicated.

So to summarize, set up a RECORD AUX, then boost everything in the AUX and send that to the USB Record channels.

If you need more info, let me know. I won’t be back to the board until Sunday, But I can take pictures if need be. Hope this helps.

Don’t know if this is too late, but I currently run an sq6 at my church. We don’t use as many outputs, but this should work, and is just an expansion of @markpaman:

    • Main LR – (Left main speaker amp, Right main speaker amp) This is your main mix and it is stereo.
    • Matrix 1 – (Mono Center Speaker amp) I’m guessing your room was previously LCR, So pull the Mix LR to the matrix.
    • Matrix 2 – Assuming the same signal you want to send to the other monos(Mono output to Hearing Loop amp and Mono output to main entrance/building speakers amp) is the same, you will only need one matrix. If the level sends need to be different, than you will need to use Matrix 3 as well.
    • Mix 1 – (Mono Sub amp) Subs
    • Mix 2 – (Mono monitor mix to stage (set up as one of the fader layers?)) Not exactly sure what you mean by “fader layers”. When you select a mix, all the individual channel faders become the selected mix level send for that channel, just like the main.
    • Mix 3-8 – (Stereo monitor mixes to stage (controlled over wireless with App))
    • Mix 9-12 – Aux or groups. You can have 12 total, so 12 groups, or 12 auxes, or 6 auxes and 6 groups(you get the idea).

I trust my people, so I haven’t locked anything down. As far as number of outputs, you can patch anything to anywhere. You could have 10 physical sockets all outputting the MainLR – L channel.

As far as you box placement(AR2412), I don’t know where your connections are. You will need more outputs than that box provides as 6 stereo = 12 sockets. If you only need more outputs, check out the DX012. You probably also know that the AR2412 is 48K, while the SQ’s are 96K.

Don’t know if that helps, but there’s my 2 cents.

Yes, Show level. I ran into that problem myself before I realized what was going on.

If anything, they could set it up to have “temporary scene”, then you could load scenes and assign a soft key to save to the temporary scene, so you can save and recall(undo) without changing your stored scenes. @markpaman is right.

If you are asking for “White Letters”, they can’t. If you look closely at the scribble strips, they are actually LCD (black, like a basic clock) screens with color back lighting. It would be nice to have white lettering, but physically not possible. Hopefully when they release the 1.5 feature update, they will add more colors and allow you to invert the LCD (for color letters). Those developers have a lot to do. Their hard work is appreciated.

@nicolehiggins is there an industry standard, or just manufacture’s preference as to what scale they use?

It might just be a characteristic of the board. When I Record to USB on the SQ-Drive(Stereo) and import the file into Audacity, I see the same thing. The board shows 0 but Audacity shows about a 15 dB drop. I thought maybe it’s because the SQ has a lot of head room above 0 until it peaks.

Like an Allen & Heath branded SQ-attached fidget cube? Maybe you should see if a fidget spinner will fit there. Maybe they could sell it as an accessory. My mistake.

Are you recommending that they ship the boards with labels for the soft keys? I use labeled magnets so they can be moved. This seems like more of a taunt than a feature request. Can this thread be deleted?

The older I get, the dumber I feel. I’m not sure how I missed that. Thanks. Maybe this should get moved to general discussions.
