    Hello @Moe O,

I would strongly recommend for you to have a look at the ME Personal Mixing System.
Given your requirements, it seems to be a very well fitted solution for you.

By using either ME-500 or ME-1 units, the musicians would be mixing themselves and able to create a stereo mix. Added to that, you wouldn’t be using any of your Aux Mixes, which will allow you to have them free for any other feed that you need, such as broadcast or wedges.

    For your reference: https://www.allen-heath.com/key-series/me/
If you have any further questions regarding the system, you may contact your local A&H distributor/supplier: https://www.allen-heath.com/where-to-buy/
Or feel free to reach out to our support team and we’ll be happy to assist with any doubt: Support@allen-heath.com

    Thank you,
    Rafa

    Hello @Jharp,

    I would recommend:
    – Monitoring your Input channels to ensure that the noise is not coming from any of your mics or sources. You can do this by PAFLing your input channels and listening through the headphone output
    – Make sure you have a good gain structure. This will ensure that you don’t have any unwanted noise floor.
    – If you are outputting the signal from the mixer through an XLR output, which output bus are you outputting? The Main Mix? or have you created a separate Mix for this?, Make sure that your Mix Master Fader is in unity level and that your sent signals are also at a good level.
    – Make sure that the input level at the camera is also the optimum.
    – Monitor the signal coming into the camera by connecting your headphones on the camera to detect if at this point the noise is present.
    – You may test the camera inputs by connecting any other XLR source into it and see if the noise is present, this will help you disregard the possibility of being the camera Input XLR’s sockets that are causing the noise.

Let us know how it goes,
    Cheers.

    Hello @Bonnie,

It’s great to have you on board, we certainly appreciate your enthusiasm to learn how to operate the Qu.
I would strongly suggest starting by going with detail on the user guide, as it contains a lot of important information reinforced with visual images for references: https://www.allen-heath.com/media/Qu-Mixer-Reference-Guide-AP9372_10.pdf

We also have a full playlist of quick videos for Qu on our YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLq3_zC_Xz0PjdM-aethdufOFUMhQgNBpo
We have a Help Centre, which contains multiple articles regarding different topics around the Qu: https://support.allen-heath.com/hc/en-gb/categories/360003881498-Qu
You may also find on A&H’s Facebook page, recordings from Live Streaming and Q&A sessions done by the one and only Keith: https://www.facebook.com/AllenHeathofficial/videos

    I hope this helps you,

    Hello @pilotfred

You can change the configuration of your Aux/Groups in Setup – Mixer Config – Bus Config.
These changes are at a core level, and therefore they cannot be switched between scenes. When moving across your scenes, Mixer Configurations will remain the same.

Should you wish to review more details on this, you may refer to pages 70 and 71 of the user guide: https://www.allen-heath.com/media/SQ_ReferenceGuide_V1_5_0.pdf

    Cheers!

    Hello @steve.battisti,

Just to complement the explanation that Mike provided above.

I would recommend to first ensure we have a good gain structure on your channels. Best practice would be to have your fader in unity (0dBs) and start adjusting the gain until you reach a good level of your source.

Under the assumption that you L&R outputs of the QU16 are going to the FOH; We would need to analyse what XLR Output are you using to connect from the QU-16 to your Mackie. As Output Buses and Output sockets are fixed and labelled at the rear of the mixer, this will be very easy to identify.
Whichever this Mix is, press the blue button of it and as Mike explained, your faders will now be the send to that Mix (Make sure that the Master Fader is also in Unity 0dBs, at this moment the Master Fader is the Master of that Mix you are in)
At this point, raising the fader of any of your incoming sources should be feeding signal into the Mix and therefore, you should be receiving this signal in your Mackie mixer and your Headphones.
Adjust the levels accordingly among all your sources to create a Mix that you are comfortable with, your Mackie level will only control the level of the overall mix, but to make an adjustment of a particular channel you would need to do it directly on the Mix at the Qu-16.

Here’s a quick video to get you familiarized: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q9P-Om8UBe4&list=PLq3_zC_Xz0PjdM-aethdufOFUMhQgNBpo&index=9&t=154s

    Hello @peterzoetermeer

I would say it is purely a matter of taste and mixing style.
You are welcome to give it a try and stick to the one that adapts better to the sound you are looking for.

The Reverbs in SQ are great emulations which you can still adjust in terms of parameters to obtain the sound you are looking for.

    Cheers,
    Rafael

    Hello @RoB,

    A few points to clarify:
    – Adding a stagebox into your system, will only allow you to increase the amount of input sockets, but not the amount of processing channels.
Meaning that if you are currently already using the 48 processing channels that SQ works with, adding the AR2412 is not going to increase that amount of channels, but instead you are increasing the amount of Input sockets and allowing you to connect sources from a different location other than the local sockets of the mixer.

    – It is possible to do a digital split between Qu and SQ for audio sharing through Tielines. However, as Soren mentioned above, the linked mixer must be connected into the SLink port of the SQ. If you want to be using an expander at the same time, you will need to fit an optional SLink card at the I/O port, which enables a completely new and independant SLink port for you.
The Expander port at the AR2412 will not work for this operation.

Here are some articles and documentation that might be of help for you:

    Hello @glennalonzo,

There is a misunderstanding on the statement written above.
The user of the video DID NOT send his mixer to our offices (UK), because we do not service units at out offices.
All service and repair is done ONLY through our official distributor partners located on each country. So, the user is must likely referring to the A&H distributor in his location.
Warranty works under the warranty compliance attached to each product at the moment of the purchase, this does not get extended and any warranty situation must be dealt directly with the same A&H distributor.

On your open case with our support department, it was advised to reach out to your local A&H distributor (JB Music), which is the same procedure we advise all users when service is required (Including our user from the video)
As you decided against it and rather had your unit be serviced by a local repair shop, I’m afraid we are unable to follow up the case and ensure its proper repair.

Should you wish to reach out to your local A&H Distributor (JB Music) as it was advised, being the authorized A&H service centre in your location, we will be happy to follow up the case and make sure your unit gets the right service through them and returns to you in perfect operational conditions, as it was done with this user in the video.
If your unit remains under warranty, you can be certain that warranty will be honoured.

Any questions or enquiries, feel free to reach out to us at Support@allen-heath.com
    Thank you,
    Rafael

    Hi @WilliamQ,

I recommend trying with a different ethernet cable, a different router and making sure that a) The router is set as DHCP server and b) That the mixer’s Network configuration is set as DHCP as well.
As a test, you may also connect a computer directly to the Network port and adjust either to match IP address range, this should show Network activity on the Led and allow you to access the MixPad app from the computer (PC or Mac)

If this does not work, then do get in touch with the distributors to have it checked by the authorized service centre.

    Cheers,
    Rafael

    Hello @Casey,

    – You can access the Global Dir Out settings by selecting a channel and pressing the Processing key.
On this window you will be able to select at which point of the chain will the signal leave to the monitoring system (Me’s), you will also be able to select if you wish this signal to follow the ‘Mute’ and the ‘Fader’.
If you don’t want your ME’s signals to be affected by the FOH changes, then disabled the Follow Fader option.

    – You can have the click on any available channel of the mixer and route this channel as well to the ME’s, just like the rest of the signals.
How the click track is sourced into the mixer is up to you, in most cases this is done through a computer/DAW.
You can do this through an XLR to 3.5mm cable or by interfacing the computer vs the mixer through USB cable (For more details on this: https://support.allen-heath.com/hc/en-gb/articles/4403019846033-Qu-How-do-I-route-audio-to-and-from-my-Qu-mixer-and-a-DAW-)
If you wish to disabled this ‘Click channel’ from going to the Main Mix of your mixer, you can place yourself on the Main Mix, then press/hold the Assign key and press the ‘SEL’ key of the desired channel.

    – FX’s from the FX rack are assigned by default to their corresponding FX return channels, you can patch any FX return channel into the ME system, just like the rest of channels, where the users will be having the FX return on another ME key to control how much they want to add. The Engineer will still have a separate control of how much return wants to add to the main mix.

    I hope this helps you!
    Rafael
