In the current default setting on Allen&Heath dLive surface the metering pickup point is set to Post-Delay.
This is something not everyone is aware of and can sometimes create some misunderstanding. Most common the misunderstanding happens when running FOH/Monitor split setup. Most people looks at fader metering setting their gain. But as this is default set to Post-Delay, unaware people start to adjust their gain as the are dialing equaliser and compression settings due to metering showing increase or decrease on metering due to this. Which then change the source level for the system on the other side of the split. Having a default setting as Post Preamp would make things easier as this (to me) is the first instance of the path and any one who wants to have a different pickup source can the change it using the SETUP function when in Metering screen.
As there are different opinions on where the default should be.

2013/11/29 at 6:28 pm #36425I think the VST will cover both SG Multirack and Multirack.
But, Native ONLY works with Multirack and not SG.2012/05/21 at 3:16 am #30638Hi,
I can only agree with Gil.
iLive sound is superior, weight, space. etc.
AND you will have a digital snake in the basic deal. And as for bands traveling, I have never heard anyone complain on
mixing on the iLive, or the sound quality.
Start up time and scene editing yes, but this is not really a deal breaker here.
Not if it would be my decision, anyway…I have 4 iLive systems on my rental, and 1 DiGiCo SDTEN.
The iLive’s are out ALL the time. The DIGICo has been out ONE TOUR in 12 months.Best Regards,
Oscar

Sweden2012/03/29 at 11:19 pm #30295A more advanced secene editing is something that needs total re-write, and this will take a new processor. So, I’ve just learn ed to make do.
To work with what we’ve got.
It’s still a low price system doing one hell of a job.If you need more advanced scene editing use DiGiCo orMidas.
But they have other disadvantages…
I have a SD10 in my rental fleet, but it’s always the iLive’s that is out working.
And my weapon of choice for many reasons.Regarding working with what you got,
One thing that’s been working great for me is.
Recall safe a mix under 3-4 songs to make your monitor adjustments on soundcheck,
and store each scene.
And then exit recall safe for this mix and press next in your set-list and you have your
changes saved to the songs you did.
Or just have the mix recalled saved the whole show , do your changes and then lift safes. You can also take out everything from the scene structure and just save small amount of stuff, then the update process goes much faster.
I have not have any problem with the recall safes?!
It is what it is, and of course we all wait for a lot of stuff to be implemented into the iLive
system.
I meet with people at A&H 2 years ago discussing the scene editing and the demand
from my clients regarding i.e. distortion fx’s.etc. Which it looks like it’s coming.
Scene editing changes will realistically not surface until next generation of iLives.
Which I personally think will be 1-2years away.THIS, despite…
I still use iLive as my main companion and a lot of my clients favorite “JEEP” desk.If you need things thats not in iLive, use another desk…simple as that.
I don’t think anyone bothers to mail Yamaha,
prompting for them to make improvements on the LS9.Having said that, I think it’s important to come with ideas and criticism.
Both negative and positive.Parashoot
Sweden2012/03/29 at 10:33 pm #30294Yes, it’s not a problem to un-mute.
But i you want to be fast its a drag.
If your checking the reverb return, listening on the pfl,
and then snap back to IEM afl to listen to a mix,
using only IEM monitors.
Its really enoying.
So I just want to turn this feature of when I only use IEM ears for monitor cue.Tnx,

Sweden2012/03/13 at 9:48 am #30052Yes,
I think we have to wait for A&H on this to work.
I connected a box today with Dante card, and it just says:
“This device does not support Dante Redundancy”
I’m sure it’s in the works, and that A&H have it on their list.Parashoot
Sweden2012/03/10 at 2:24 pm #29998Hi,
I connected my Waves card and tried to set it up.
The IDRbox found the Waves card and it showed up on the Port B tab.
Then I did the SG setup, it didn’t find the iLive at first, but later it did.
I then pressed the update tabs in the Multirack SG inventory window. After this my Waves card is not showing up either on the surface, Editor or Multirack Soundgrid.
I’ve tried to restart several times and even taking the card out and put it back in again.
But it still doesn’t show up anywhere…Any ideas?

Sweden2012/03/07 at 9:12 pm #29899Not to many beer drinkers and hellraisers here…
So we’ll meet up, the 4 of us then.
Maybe we should start this tradition of going to one of the Wurst stands on the Messe.
A slow start, so we don’t over do it…
And next trade-show, Plasa we might picked up a few more beer drinkers.Cheers,
