Sorry for digging out this old thread but there are interesting news from our side. We are developing a community website for iLive & GLD users which will consolidate the current forum and blog plus add long-awaited functionality such as library sharing and rental network.

I’m currently looking for volunteers from the existing forum to beta test the site. If you are interested please post here and I’ll send some instructions over. Make sure the email address associated with your forum profile is still active.

Everybody else please be patient, it can take a few weeks before it goes live.

    Thanks,

    Nicola

    Hi Casey,

GLD Remote and OneMix preferences (such as custom strip layout, Aux mix, permissions) are local to the iPad. They are not linked to GLD user profiles. You can set up each iPad to have different mix, name, strip layout and permissions.

    Hope this helps,

    Hi all,

In case you haven’t received the invitation:

Join us for an exclusive preview of the forthcoming GLD Editor software and GLD V1.3 firmware. GLD Editor lets you configure a GLD digital mixing system before a performance, check and edit guest engineers’ show files and even mix live from a laptop or tablet.

There will be live demos with our our product specialists, an opportunity to put your questions to key R&D team members, plus we’ll look at how to set up ME personal mixing systems for touring and installation using the ME-U hub.

Space is limited so please reserve your Webinar seat now. There are two sessions to suit different time zones.

    Hi Gerger,

You can patch up to 64 channels from the Master rack or Surface to Port B ACE, then pick up these ACE channels in the Slave rack (they will show up as Port A ACE) and patch them to Port B Dante.

Conversely, you can patch up to 32 channels from Slave Port B Dante to Slave Port A ACE, then pick up these ACE channels in the Master rack (they will show up as Port B ACE) and patch them to the required iDR or Surface sockets. This is because as you say 32 ACE channels from Slave to Master are reserved for Dual Rack bus link.

    Hi tk2k,

This sounds like a good application for the Speaker Matrix. You do have separate delay lines up to 85ms so make sure this is enough for your venue. Have a look here: https://ilivefx.allen-heath.com/spkr.php?t=i.

    Hi timtrace,

Have you considered using the iLive OneMix iPad app? This would give the musicians control over an iLive mix patched to the iDR output sockets.

    Hi AJ,

I’m afraid this would not work. You would get an ‘incompatible version’ error message.

The other way round is possible of course (older show files in new firmware versions).

    Hi joeymauro,

You can patch a number of things to connected ME-1s, including surface inputs, by using the Monitor tab in the I/O screen. To route the USB audio to ME-1 for example, select the required Monitor output, then choose USB Play from the drop-down menu.

    Hope this helps,

    Nicola

    Hi Chris,

The Ambient mic goes to the Stereo output only. The Mono one outputs the master LR plus the local Aux In, but not the Ambient mic.

Correct. This is what we recommend. Further reading:

    Hi Nick,

You can fit a Dante card to the ME-U as well as the iDR. This way you can route out of Port B the signals for both personal monitoring and the Yamaha.

    I hope this helps,

    Hi Rick,

V1.2 adds the ability to patch FX returns to Monitor outputs. You can dedicate an FX unit to ME-1 users so they have level control over the wet reverb for example.

    Hi Mark,

Make sure you have your Redundancy settings right on the Master rack. Go to Mixer Preferences, Port A/B setup. You should use Redundancy Off (All Inputs on Link 1), provided you are running V1.9?

    Hope this helps,

    Hi Ygor,

If you really want to stick with Pro Tools, then you should consider upgrading to an HD version. PT HD 10 recognizes all the 64 Dante I/O.
