We haven’t got powered wedges. The amps are in a backstage rack along with the AR2412. I was wondering if you could assign an AR2412 output to a ME-1 output digitally, but I guess not?

Cue list editor? Tell me more please. Is it an A&H product? Which software does it come with.

    John,

The Cue List editor is available from the scenes page on the GLD-80. It allows you to order your scenes into a set of cues.

There’s definitely a PC in there running Linux – you see the BIOS screen and Linux starting to boot. I have had mine hang hard so that the touchscreen and all the controls are unresponsive, but audio continued to flow. I would imagine therefore that the main mixer is a bunch of FPGAs and perhaps some DSPs, but all the control surface and display is driven by the PC.

But that’s just my speculation :)

    Rob,

Make sure you are using the latest firmware – I think selecting the patchbay for scene recall was only added recently.

    Pascal,

I had a very, very similar crash a couple of weeks ago – I still have an issue open with A&H support about it – I would encourage you to do the same.

Mine was with firmware 1.11 and definitely seemed to involve USB sticks. I’ve since upgraded to 1.12 and it hasn’t re-occurred.

    Mute groups?

The intention is that you use a DCA. There is an option on the DCA to lock its level to Unity. You then just assign that DCA’s mute to a soft key and you don’t need to expose it on a surface channel.

There are 2 separate bugs here which are unrelated but cause the same point of failure:

    1) An O/S indexing service generating large temporary files
    2) USB Key hot unplug generating excessive event log entries

Both eventually cause the on board storage to fill up and the desk will fail to boot.

    Andy,

Thank you for the detailed response and for being transparent about the issue.

I agree totally on the stereo channels. Ganging is not quite the same, because you can’t gang the gain or trim and you can’t set the pans to be inverses of each other when ganged.

I use an aux-fed sub and it works fine for me. I don’t tend to adjust individual levels much – they’re all generally at unity or zero, but using the rotary encoder would work OK, I think.

I’ve also been seeing the same issue – every now and then the first few channels just stop sending audio. Stopping and starting the virtual soundcard causes it all to spring back into life.

    I would guess hours :)

No, there isn’t at the moment, so there is no easy way to create additional stereo channels. It would be great to be able to gang the preamp section as well and also some way to invert the pan value on a ganged stereo pair.
