Thank you for the clarification. It’s true, I confirm that on the Qu-24 you can assign an FX return to any of the FX sends and so it’s possible to generate a feedback loop. In my case (and I’ve verified that this is so correctly set by default after an hard reset) the returns are not assigned to sends that have the same number (eg FX1 Ret is not assigned to FX1 Send). So the random signal spikes on my Qu-24 can’t be caused by that feedback. Soon the A&H authorized service center will work again on the problem. I’ll keep you up-to-date.

On Qu-24 you can’t route a return channel to a send channel making a feedback loop. Simply there is not such a possibility.

Hello all, I’ve just found a workaround that worked for me. My issue was Qu-24 noisy USB playback streaming from Cubase 5.5 running on Mac OS X (10.6.8), Mac Pro 1.1. I’ve been using Qu-24 for 5 years and the problem started only some months ago, possibly when I updated the Qu-24 firmware. Some days ago I just updated from 1.9 to version 1.95 (the last version) and I noticed a worse USB playback problem. So I thought: let’s try to downgrade to version 1.6 (to go back enough). The problem disappeared. No more noise. I hope this can help the community and Allen & Heat.
