Against each bank select button there is a red peak light, when your clipping the output check these and see where the clipping is occuring.

Always insist on a waterproof structure around front of house position (its always worth a try!)

Best desk for outside use is someone elses [:)]

Whilst we are on this topic has anyone any solutions for using the touch screen in sunlight apart from gaffering cardboard round it?

I would expect reloading firmware should work or you could try a reset of the desk check the knowledge base to findout how to do this. With regards to the usb stick make sure you use a usb2 stick of good quality, I use one made by Integral which works well

Just updated to 1.7 and my libraries disappeared when I loaded a new template, got them back by loading an old 1.63 show and resaving them from there

schaibaa you are correct, however my original post was an observation which I thought might be useful to others. The further comments/discussions about templates i think are relevant however that part of the discussion may have been better submitted as a seperate topic in the suggestions thread. It is good to get opinions and answers from different people from all around the world with different applications for the system that is after all what this forum was set up for

Kris B1-B8 are outputs on the T series. OK ,so we have general purpose, not surface specific templates. Is it just me or would you expect the system to configure itself to what it has attached to it? The surface your using detects the rack configuration your using and how many and what type of extra card is fitted so would it be such a stretch for it to say you’ve only got so many inputs and outputs available. Its is rare that i use someone elses system but say you were hot desking at a festival how would you know until you tried to plug something into a hole that isn’t there?

NB all the input sockets on my iDR have a number from 1-32 stuck on them, My thinking is that it is easior to tell a stagetech to plug a mic into 26 as opposed to D2

    Hi Albin

Yes I knew about any input to any channel and will experiment further on the how to use the “digital split”. I think my point is that as i use an idr32 I probably would expect that templates for this configuration would automatically put the surface inputs at 33-38 not bury them another two layers away.

If you press “mixrack” on the buttons below the touchscreen there is a button which says talk back and you just assign where you want the signal from the talkback mic on the desk to go.Alternatively in editor there is a button for talkback assign

I would be a lot happier to buy a simple wifi controller for the mix rack with, as justin says, a single moto fader on and a few soft keys for eq’ing monitors and foh and simple mix adjustments than going down the ipad route, carrying round a laptop on stage to do this is cumbersome and awkward

My experience is that minor niggles have been ironed out with software upgrades like renaming channels and more recently loss of channel select when some idiot unplugs the mix rack on stage all of which have been fixed by software upgrades. I suspect the last problem was made worse by the fact that playback was plugged into the surface and running whilst the surface was trying to re-establish a connection. Problem was solved by a reboot and fixed in 1.63 (although haven’t had the guts to test this theory yet!)

Its summer time now and got round to updating the time on the desk only to find three seperate times again! In the last 6 months the clocks on the system have varied by 10 minutes. The screen time is x the surface time is x + 10 minutes the rack is x-7 minutes. Is this a common thing and how often do you have check the time on the system?

Just a quick question on this one, if you assign all your input channels to one DCA to use as a mute all and leave it at 0db, then assign say 4 vocals to a second DCA, which DCA will have priority?
