Yes the “big” beta has been released.
Access to all FX and A&H FX presets is already implemented.

The next update will add FX user preset management and maybe add Qu-Drive functionality

    Thanks for testing Frank!
I uploaded a small update today which fixes the issues you named and adds access to the out of the box FX presets. The custom FX presets will follow very soon.
Did anyone already had a chance to test with a Qu-SB/Pac?

    Hi,

the update will be available as an regular update via the app store.
Beta testers can already test the new version (if you want to test as well here is a guide on how to become a tester:
    https://bugs.dev-core.org/w/ms/beta/)

The new app features has already access to all FX (although the UI is just generic for now), scene management and other stuff that has been missing before like the channel/mix delay.
Also the accuracy of the values have been improved a lot (before there were only 127 steps for an entire value range). It is also possible to connect up to 4 instances of Mixing Station + 2 iPads – maybe even more.
Supported firmware versions are: 1.82 and >=1.90 (note that 1.82 has not all scene functionality so I would recommend updating to 1.90)

I’m currently working on making more features available like the QuDrive, Routing, Channel and FX presets, …
Once the app is running smoothly (no crashes, stable connection) it will be released for all users.

The custom layout feature also has been improved and has more actions which can be assigned.

Thanks @SRD for replying already 🙂

    @glenn
In case you own the pro version, you can also fully customize your mixer layout:
    https://bugs.dev-core.org/w/ms/custom_layout/

Also I’m working on a quite large internal change which will allow me to implement all the features from the ipad app.
I hope to get a prototype running today or tomorrow and start migrating the existing features by end of this week (in case everything works out as planned)

    Hi,

as already mentioned it does work with 1.9. But there are quite some things which are not supported
    due to protocol limitations.

This is also the reason why there is no update recently. My plan for the future is to implement the iPad protocol which allows access to all parameters but
there is no documentation for it available so it takes quite some time to reverse engineer everything.
Also it seems like the iPad protocol has much less bugs than the midi protocol.

OT: Why the hell is the A&H forum still running on http and not https?
It’s 2017 and certs do not cost anything. Also wpengine (where this page is hosted) can integrate tls for free.

Which app version are you using?
Did you tried the latest beta? It uses a new reconnect mechanism and timeout detection.

    That’s indeed very odd.
Did you have less devices connected or was is exactly the same?

The latest beta version of the app has a more sophisticated timeout detection as well as an background reconnect in case the connection was lost.

The app uses the meter data to detect if the connection is still active. Time timeout is 6 seconds.
I tested it with my qu16 and it works fine. Which mixer and firmware are you using?

You also get a connection lost message right after connecting?
Do you have a password set on your mixer?

I’m currently working on a more background reconnect mechanism, this should make things easier.

I was not yet able to reproduce this issues but I’ll see what I can do.
    Sorry for the issues.

How was the wifi quality? Were there other networks in the area with the same/similar channel?
This ususualy the main reason for connection losses.

That might not be the proper channel though. I’m wondering if there is anyway to troubleshoot this to get it to work?

You can also send me a mail: david at dev-core.org

I saw your crash reports and it seems like you’re the only person from all users who has this issue.
The crash is caused by a system library for drawing so nothing I can fix from my side.
In the stacktrace I saw that you’re using the omni rom, is that correct?
If yes you could try flashing an update or changing to another rom in case yours isn’t the stock rom.

Is it “by design” from A&H, that only one connection from an app to the qu-16 mixer is possible? Or is that a restriction from the android-app? Are there more connections at the same time possible with the official iOS-App?

Yes that’s a restriction of the mixer. Mixing Station uses the midi protocol while the official apps use some internal protocol which allows more connections (up to 2 iPads).

It will continue to work even when the screen is locked / disabled. Because the drawing will be disabled when the app is in the background it should also save some battery life.

The V1.9 update will be uploaded tomorrow. I currently only have very very slow mobile internet here so it takes some time.

    Hi,
I’m currently moving and only have internet access via phone so sorry for my slow response time.

I am working on a 1.9 version. But the current one should work fine with 1.9, just ignore the fwarning message.
Known issues with this method are: Tap buttons aare not blinking.
